Supervising Young Workers: Is it really that important?

You'll know how important supervision is once you've listened to David's story. David was a happy, healthy 16-year old when he started a great summer job. He had no idea that a late night task taking out the trash would change his life. Nobody discussed the hazards, and nobody was supervising when David went out the door that night. Come hear David's compelling story. Be prepared for a little group work, developing and sharing young worker tips for use in your own workplace.

Workshop Leaders: David Collins

David has been a long-time advocate for young worker safety since being seriously injured at work as a high school student. His determination and positive attitude have served him well while learning to cope with paralysis. Now 29, David lives in Charlottetown and is a Marketing Coordinator with Invesco Canada Ltd. For five years he co-chaired Invesco's employee charity committee, helping to raise money for local charities. David is a part-time student at UPEI, finishing up the final courses of a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
