Our IEDP is first and foremost a truly international learningexperience. It is designed to lay a solid foundation in theSouth African context, and then to add the internationalcontext with a week at the London Business School, and the study tour to Dubai and Shanghai (China). The intention is to promote your personal development ata global level.

One of the great strengths of the programme is the widevariety of delegates from both the private and public sectorand also from other African countries. This provides awonderful opportunity for networking and buildingrelationships that will be mutually beneficial long after the programme has ended.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The IEDP is ideally suited to senior managers who havehad at least ten years experience and who operate at astrategic level or managers who are being fast tracked intheir careers. Acceptance on the programme is subject toa selection process based on the applicant’s currentposition and their career progression to date. Because ofthe heavy schedule, it is essential that executives berelieved of all responsibilities during the programme.

The structure of the programme covers a host of topics atthe strategic level. Below is the list of topics that will becovered at the Wits Business School:

THE WBS LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Learning on the IEDP is highly interactive and is case studybased with group work and networking sessions so thatdelegates can learn as much as possible from each other.You will also learn about yourself by being challenged toexamine the assumptions you may have taken for grantedin decision making and leading people.

EXECUTIVE COACHING SESSIONS

To help you build the bridge between the classroom andwhat you need to do back at work there will be a numberof one on one coaching sessions with your own allocatedexecutive coach.

As part of this year’s study tour you will visit London, Dubaiand Shanghai (China). In Dubai we will explore the rise andfall of this once flourishing economy. The final stop isShanghai; itself a symbol of the transformation of China,and you will get a better understanding of the Chineseeconomy and culture through company visits.

Free time is built into the schedule so you will have enoughtime to enjoy new and different cultures and places as wellas shopping!

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

The group will depart from OR Tambo International Airport on Friday 26 August for London and from Londonon 02 September for Dubai and Shanghai (China). You willreturn to Johannesburg on Sunday 11 September 2016.

The programme fee includes all travel (economy classairfare) and accommodation arrangements which will bemade on behalf of the delegates. Delegates must be inpossession of a passport valid up to and including endMarch 2017.

BUSINESS CLASS UPGRADES

Delegates may apply for an upgrade to business class at an additional fee of R80 000. As there are a limited number of business class seats reserved for the group, these will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

VISAS

Applicants who are accepted on the programme will beresponsible for obtaining their own visas for the UnitedKingdom, Dubai and China. No refunds of programme

fee will be given if, for any reason, delegates are

unable to obtain the necessary visas.

FEES, APPLICATIONS AND DATES

The fee for the IEDP is R269 000. This covers tuition,books, case materials, refreshments, most lunches andthe overseas study tour to London, Dubai and Shanghai(China). Candidates who are accepted on the programmewill be notified and an invoice issued.

The programme fee may be subject to a currency

surcharge to cover travel and overseas expenses.

A firm quotation will be given at the time of

registration.

All fees must be paid one month before start of theprogramme.

The closing date for applications is 30 June 2016.Delegates are, however, encouraged to apply before this toavoid any disappointment.

Withdrawal of candidates may be made without penalty up to 30 May, after which date there will be a cancellationfee of R25 000. Candidates who cancel after 30 June willbe liable for the full course fee.

UNIVERSITY CERTIFICATE

Certificates of Attendance will be awarded by both WitsBusiness School and London Business School after thesuccessful completion of the programme.

Registration will take place at the introduction session at13:00–17:00 on 22 July 2016. This is a half-day session,two weeks before the start of the programme. This sessionis not compulsory for International delegates who will becontacted individually and briefed on the programme. The programme officially starts on 11 August at 07:45.A detailed timetable will be sent to delegates once they areaccepted onto the programme.

Accommodation in Johannesburg is not included in the

programme fee. Hotels close to the Business School areavailable and details will be provided on request.
