TRANSCRIPT
A nice spring is upon us – as some of us wondered if winter
was a revolving door for the last few weeks. Since it is such
a nice spring, it reminds me that May is National Family
Wellness Month. Family Wellness Month strives for com-
munities to adopt healthy family lifestyles including making
healthier eating choices. The healthier each individual family
is overall, helps to improve the well-being of our society as a
whole.
Family Wellness can also be viewed by remembering each of
our brothers and their families. There are those that struggle
with various things in life – a demanding job and deadlines,
health, financial issues, loss of a good friend or family mem-
ber, relationships, etc. Each one of us has struggles that we
are dealing with – even if one doesn’t always share theirs
with you. One way to deal with these items is to: stay posi-
tive, make a plan, and work it – one step at a time. The strug-
gles make you stronger, and the changes make you wise. My
challenge to each of you for Family Wellness month - is to go
for that walk this evening. While you are on that walk - call a
brother that you haven’t talked to in a long while – even just
to say hello.
Fraternally,
Verl W. Raap
Senior Warden
Let us congratulate Worshipful
Brother Dale Lillevold on
bringing another Grand Lodge
Apron to Wayzata Lodge 205
and his recent achievement of
becoming a Grand Lodge
Monitor. Congrats, Brother,
on your achievement.

Perhaps you have heard the term “Big Tent Masonry” before
but have you ever stopped to consider what it means to you?
We currently have several brothers from Wayzata Lodge
completing the degrees of the Scottish Rite or the York Rite
and others are preparing to be “fezzed” at the Zuhrah
Shriners Ceremonial. It is a wonderful collage of experienc-
ing local Masonry on different levels.
I have enjoyed my travels and gotten to know many amazing
brothers from other Lodges. Sometimes I have visited other
lodges due to their location or because I knew another broth-
er from that lodge from a different part of my life. However,
many times my introduction to these brothers was through
involvement in other parts of our Masonic family like the
Rites or the Shrine. Like many new masons I was invited to
join some of the Appendant Bodies by members of our
Lodge. I was comforted by being introduced to these groups
by Wayzata Brothers. I grew closer to some Wayzata broth-
ers by sharing the experience with them.
My involvement in these appendant bodies also introduced
me to many other amazing brothers and gave me the occasion
to get to know and interact with them. It is not uncommon
that I see many of the same brothers at different Masonic
venues on a regular basis. Yet these same brothers are active
in their own Blue Lodges and I can see this when I visit, at-
tend the Metro West Masters and Wardens or The Grand
Lodge of MN Annual Communication. I remember how dif-
ferent my experience was at the Grand Lodge Annual Com-
munication between the first time I attended as a guest in
2009 and the second time as a delegate in 2010. Due to my
involvement in the appendant bodies I knew far more broth-
ers from all over the Craft and I had a far better experience.
Wayzata Lodge has had a long tradition of involvement with
the MWMW, the Grand Lodge and appendant bodies. You
can see this in the number of current, and past, brothers that
are active and participate in committees, degrees, hold lead-
ership positions and yet still look forward to coming home to
our Mother Lodge every month. These experiences have
allowed me to have a larger Masonic experience and a bigger
Masonic Family.

Brothers,
Just a few notes from my desk…
Potential Candidates If you have a friend who might be interested in becoming
a Mason, now is a great time to reach out to them and
start the process to line them up for our fall class. Re-
member, once they submit a petition, it's a two month
process to get them elected and ready to receive the de-
grees.
Degree Work As we've already got candidates in the works, I'm confi-
dent that we'll be putting on degrees. One of them most
powerful memories that I have of the degree experience
was seeing how many guys took time out of their life's to
be there for me (and my class mates). More details on
the candidates and the degrees will be published in later
news letters, but I encourage every member of our lodge
to put our fall degrees on their calendar and plan to at-
tend. Better yet, if you 're interested in participating, let
me know and I'll get you in touch with the proper per-
son. There are parts for all levels of experience.
Lodge Attendance In my visitations to other lodges and conversations with
brothers, I've come to appreciate how much participation
from our members that we have in our lodge but there is
always room for more! If you know a brother of our
lodge who hasn't been to a meeting in a while, make a
special effort to invite him down, maybe give him a ride
or assure him that we'd be excited to see him. It was
great seeing both sides fo the lodge filled when Plymouth
visited. I'd like to see that many people every month
with Brothers from Wayzata!
Contact Information Updates If you need your address, phone or email address up-
dates, let me know and I'll take care of it. you can con-
tact me by phone 612-801-7342 or email Secre-
