Lauderdale Police Dept, gets a shot from Instructor Eddie Abreu...who also worked on Commander when he was working in the FLPD Mounted Unit Paul, Helio, Jamie and Elayne wait for the dentists to finish with their patients Dr. Hyde with his old friend Apollo Instructor Steve Glasnak with students give Twiggy her checkup Dr. Raymond Hyde, DVM, President of the American School of Equine Dentistry ( https://www.amscheqdentistry.com/instructors.html ) along with his instructors and students, arrived to assess our retiree's dental health. The team spends their days at RHH assessing dental health, performing teeth extractions, filing points and other procedures necessary for every retiree. Dr. Hyde is a world famous equine dentist and runs the prestigious school for IED certification for Equine Dental Technicians. Students from all over the world and the U.S. attend his program...this year from France, Colombia, Puerto Rico, and Texas among other places. Good dental health is essential for every horse's quality of life and well- being. We are extremely grateful to have this team of professionals providing this for our retirees. Wildlife Picture of the Month The SOUTHERN FLYING SQUIRREL SOUTHERN FLYING SQUIRREL (Glaucomys volans) We don’t often get to see this amazing squirrel since it is most active at night …seeking a diet of fruits, nuts, seeds and a variety of other foods. During the day they den in holes in trees, abandoned woodpecker holes, nest boxes and other protected areas. They don’t actually fly but rather glide which can be up to 250 ft from a height of 60 feet. A special flap of skin between the wrists and ankles stretches out to create a sort of parachute which allows them to perform remarkable aerobatic feats. Sigma Alpha is a University of Florida professional agricultural sorority and these members spent the day clearing out fallen branches and debris out of "Voltan's" and "Pavarotti's" pastures. Your bequest to the Retirement Home for Horses, Inc. will enable us to continue caring for abused and neglected horses even when you are no longer here to share their world. Kids love these and on Open House Saturdays we ask for a $5.00 donation as a way to raise funds. If you have a collection you no longer want please donate them to help the horses. To begin your yearly co-sponsoring we ask that you commit to a minimum of 3 months ($150) in advance which will allow us to create your sponsorship package. SOUTHERN FLYING SQUIRREL

SOUTHERN FLYING SQUIRREL (Glaucomys volans)We don’t often get to see this amazing squirrel since itis most active at night …seeking a diet of fruits, nuts,

seeds and a variety of other foods. During the day theyden in holes in trees, abandoned woodpecker holes,

nest boxes and other protected areas. They don’tactually fly but rather glide which can be up to 250 ft
