hanks to our many donors and supporters, 2007 was a banner year for

the Lake Washington College Foundation and the students and programs

we help support.

Endowments grew from $397,000 in 2006 to $547,000 in 2007. Faculty endowments

almost doubled and three individual endowments were established: The Norah N.

and Gerald F. Link Endowment (to support student scholarships), The International

Student Scholarship Endowment (to support international students) and The Dr.

Metke President’s Fund Endowment (to support the college’s strategic initiatives).

The Foundation also provided more than 35 scholarships to students in 2007, raised

more than $32,000 at our 4th annual Sailing to Success auction and directly helped

20 students through the Student Emergency Fund. In addition, a Foundation team

participated in the 2007 “Red-Spoke” Redmond to Spokane bike ride fundraiser and

raised more than $15,000 for the Foundation.

It’s so rewarding to see how the Foundation–through your donations and support

–directly benefits individual students. With your help, we are making a difference in

so many student’s lives.

Thank you for another wonderful year and for helping us build a brighter future, one

student at a time.

Gerald M. Hughes, President, Lake Washington College Foundation

hanks to our many donors and supporters, 2007 was a banner year for

all types. A company may give cash or non-cash gifts to the college in return

for a service, such as use of facilities or training. Over 400 leaders from

business and industry currently help make this possible. Be creative. How can we serve your business while you support the college?
