It was damaged beyond repair. We also had to amputate your legs as they were severely burnt …”3) It was then that I realized that I could not feel my toes. Grief overcame me. My dream of becoming a professional athlete was dashed.4) “ Why couldn’t I just die?” I thought to myself. I wanted to scream at the top of my voice.5) Suddenly, a short sharp pain ripped through my body and I sank back into unconsciousness.
