ABOUT THE BOOKThe following shopping list is a detailed representation of the many things you may find in the cupboards, fridges, and pantries of avid health enthusiasts. The items contained in this shopping list are vegan (excluding honey, as we believe in its high nutritional content). This particular shopping list may exclude a number of items that will be found on the standard American food guide – for good reason. The majority of the items listed below are known to have significant health benefits and very few adverse effects.

As mentioned earlier, many of the following products are rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, most of which contain numerous detoxification properties. Any adverse effects one may feel are most likely due to the detoxification process. However, please contact a registered health professional before making any significant dietary changes. Everyone has different body constitutions, and one person may be sensitive to one product while another person may be able to consume mass amounts of the same product. Listen to your body and understand its sensitivities.

This list contains strictly Vegan items, although if you are still purchasing meat products (not a single thing wrong with this), we recommend purchasing organic, grass-fed, hormone and antibiotic-free meat from a local farm or health food store. If you are unsure of a particular ingredient or item featured on this shopping list, we recommend conducting further research of your own and making a justified decision thereafter. Knowledge is power. Lastly, if there are items not listed on this guide, it doesn’t mean those particular items are unhealthy—it could very well mean we just forgot about the ingredient or are unaware of its potential benefits.

The majority of these foods can be purchased at your local grocery store or health food stores. We recommend purchasing certified organic products whenever possible, or supporting your local community Farmer’s Market.
