Conducting the speaking parts.

The unit test speaking tests are pair work for the children. Either the teacher can be the other

student, or as the teacher you can monitor pairs. When marking the speaking take into ac-

count pronunciation and language (vocabulary items and grammar). Refer to the speaking cri-

teria.

Speaking Criteria

5 points Asks and answers all the questions correctly. Correctly pronounces all the

words. Gives more than one word answers. Very little hesitation.

4 points Asks and answers most of the questions; correctly pronounces most of the

words. Mostly gives more than one word answers. Some hesitation.

3 points Ask and answers some of the questions; correctly pronounces some of the

words. Mainly gives one word answers. Some hesitation.

2 points Encounters difficulties in asking and answering the questions. Many words

incorrectly pronounced. Hesitates a lot.

1 point Has a lot of difficulty asking and answering the questions. Excessive hesita-

tion.
