Research & Design

CPS-Pumps has a vast Research & Development group that enhances current designs and develops new designs when client needs require it. We use Com-puter Aided Design software coupled with three dimensional flow field simulation analysis and rotor dynamics and supporting reliability simulation analysis for our mechanical design. We use 3-D printing capability for rapid prototype testing and confirma-tion of computation fluid dynam-ic design.

Our engineering software also guides in the design of the follow-ing:

To confirm casting and design calculations, we have a state of the art testing facility at our disposal. In this facility we have an Ingle & Burke direct-reading mass spec-trometer, metallurgical analysis meter, tensile & yield strength destructive testing equipment, X-ray and ultrasonic non-destruc-tive testing capabilities.

Hydraulic Testing Facilities

We have multiple, third party certified testing facilities used to confirm hydraulic performance. With flows through 90,000 gal-lons per minute and horsepowers through 1500 HP, be assured that we can confirm your job site re-

quirements. We can provide both non-witnessed and witnessed testing based on client requirements. All drivers, flow meters, electrical equipment and pressure gauging is ISO-17025 certified and the test lab has been certified by bit Under-writers Laboratory and Factory Mutual.

Manufacturing

We have a vast manufacturing capability that we have invested in for the last three decades. CPS-Pumps has the ability to manu-facture 25,000 pump assemblies per year and pour 10,000 tons of raw materials. This vast amount of capacity was added to give the client a readily available product, competitively priced and of the highest quality available today.

Water Resources

The Water Resources markets are arguably one of the most impor-tant global markets in the world today. Anywhere where people live, they must have water re-sources. The CPS-Pumps prod-uct line is very diverse and offers the most important pump types needed for this very important market. In addition to the actual products, the product line can be customized to meet the ever changing needs of the engineer-ing community. From special metallurgy, special fabricated options to nearly any engineered coating, CPS-Pumps has an engi-neering staff to meet these needs.

CPS-Pumps offers a wide variety of pumps used in Water Resource applications. These include end suction, vertical column, non-clog, split case, chemical process, vertical turbine and self-primer. These pump configurations can be supplied in packed or me-chanical seal construction and can be poured in a variety of materi-

als. These cast materials include class 30 cast iron, ductile iron, all bronze, all 304 stainless steel, all 316 stainless steel, all Cd4MCu, all Alloy 20, all Hastalloy (B&C), all 2205 super duplex stainless steel, all 2507 super duplex stain-less steel, Cr28 and all Titanium.

CPS-Pumps regularly supplies pumps for transporting water from surface locations such as reservoirs, lakes, canals, rivers and from deepwell locations when surface water is not available.

The CPS-Pumps product line offers many different models for pumping water from surface and sub-surface locations. A complete vertical turbine product line is manufactured by CPS-Pumps for raw water intake applications. A complete axial flow (CAF) and mixed-flow (CMF) product line is also available for storm water, canal supply and flood control ap-plications.

Pumps can also be manufactured out of optional materials where brackish or salt water is used in the supply of water as seen in reverse osmosis applications. When these types of fluids are used special optional metallurgies are necessary for proper opera-

tion.

Water distribution applications also use a variety of horizontal split case and vertical turbine pumps. CPS-Pumps has one of the most hydraulically complete split case and vertical turbine product lines available today. These pumps can be supplied with a nearly unlimited number of options, coatings and fabricated components.

Wastewater applications also are demanding in their design and construction. CPS-Pumps manufactures a complete line of non-clog pumps specifically designed and suited for large

spherical solids pumping applications.

These pumps can be supplied in flooded suction and/or self-prim-er orientations. The collection and treatment of these solids are critical to the entire environmen-tal community.

Self-primer pumps (SPT & SPU)are designed with long life in mind and feature a dual oil reservoir design. One reservoir supplies oil to the power frame as-sembly and the supplies oil for the mechanical seal assembly

The CPS-Pumps non-clog pumps (CNC) feature dedicated two vane, enclosed impellers spe-cifically designed to pump large spherical, stringy and limp solids in suspension and solution. The

impeller eye on these non-clog pumps are rounded & tapered specifically designed for solids pumping.

The agricultural and irrigation markets around the world turn arid environments into land that can produce a variety of agricul-tural products. From soybeans, grapes, corn and wheat, these pumps are critical for food pro-duction in all parts of the world. CPS-Pumps manufactures a va-riety of vertical & submersible as well as axial & mixed flow pumps for pumping water from surface or sub-surface locations. A wide variety of horizontal pumps including end suction, split case and

self primers round out the of-fering making CPS-Pumps an unmatched source for your pump-ing equipment.

Pumps used in irrigation can source water from rivers, lakes, streams, canals and wells. For deepwell applications CPS-Pumps manufactures a full ver-tical turbine, as well as one of the most complete submersible turbine product lines available in the industry today. The submers-ible turbine pumps are perfectly suited for the many pivot applica-tions used to irrigate crops where surface water is not readily avail-able.

Irrigation pumps for livestock are also important to the farming in-dustry. The CPS-Pumps product line can supply water in this appli-cation from surface or sub-surface locations. This industry also uses non-clog product for the removal of animal waste. CPS-Pumps has a full flooded suction and self-primer product line that are perfectly suited for this demand-ing application.

Two-vane, semi-open impeller designs (SPT & SPU) are de-signed specifically for these waste applications and allow the passing of solids through three (3) inches

in diameter.
