BARNSTEAD HOSE NIPPLE (HN) DEMINERALIZING CARTRIDGES

Barnstead Hose Nipple (HN) Water Demineralizer Cartridges were designed to provide low cost deionized water for small volume users. The 18.7 inch long transparent cartridges contain dye that changes color to indicate cartridge exhaustion, They connect to the faucet by using flexible tubing that fits 3/B inch barbed hose connection. Maxi- mum water inlet temperature is 49°0 (120°F).

The Bantam connects directly to the raw water line and delivers demineralized water in continuous flow between 5 and 10 gallons per hour at atmospheric pressure. A direct reading meter indicates purgy of effluent at all times and shows when to change cartridges. Meter is calibrated at 0-15 parts per million (as NaCI) and in ohms resistance from 25,000 to 18,000,000. A simple thumb screw permits quick cartridge change. The Oarnstead B-pore Cartridge System provides flexibdity in design- ing an unique water system. Modular design allows adding additional holders when the need exists. If the need is for pure water of less quality than the NANOpure, E-pure, or EASYpure can produce, the B- pure is the proper system. For point-of-use deionization for laborato- ries, electronics industry, and all users of pure water. Designed to produce high quality water in a compact, easy to use unit. All parts exposed to water or water vapor are constructed of inert PYREX ® or WCOR ® brand glassware or Teflon e. No metal parts are used for the wet surfaces, virtually eliminating the possibility of corrosion or metallic contamination. Illuminated push button controls are conveniently located on the front panel. Stills are enclosed in a baked epoxy aluminum cabinet with a removable cover All are equipped with a high temperature cutoff switch that cuts off the power to the still should overheating oeeur as well as a constant water-level device. A flow meter for water inlet control is standard on all models except the 1.4 liter size. Distillate from all stills is pyrogen free per USP requirements and total solids are as low as 0.57 mg per liter depending on feed water. All stills are UL listed. Model MP-12A is designed for production of Type I water and meets all CAP, NCCLS and ASTM standards except the ASTM 16.67 resistivity rating. The Model 12A i ncludee a deionizer end prod uct cooler built in. Other models designed for automatic operation can be used with 17-8084-01, D1 Deionizer or 17-B090-01, DB Demineralizer and 17-8565, Automatic Collection System. These three components work together in a system that is totally self-metering and serf-tending to provide a constant supply of high purity water. Barnstead stills are designed to eliminate all types of impurities - organic, inorganic, bacterial and pyrogenic. Construction materials include copper, brass, bronze add pure tin. All parts in contact with the distillate are heavily tin coated. Exterior jacket of still is fabricated from stainless steel; condenser and fittings, are polished nickel plated finish. The distilled water produced by these stills contains not more than 1 ppm total solids with a pH value of 5.4 to 72 and an electrical resistance of not less than 300,000 ohms at 25°C.AII stills are designed for usa with tap water and are available with or without low water cutoff. For small quantities of very pure water. Bench mounted, batch fed, portable system is ideal for requirements of less than 15 liters per day. Designed for many critical analytical procedures such as HPLC, AA, TOC, GC/MS, ICP/MS and B.O.D. The short distance between the water outlet and point of use minimized the risk that the water might become contaminated. Has integral 7-liter polypropylene storage reservoir. Microprocessor and digital display indicates the purity of the product water and provides either continuous "On" or "standby" modes. Stanby feature recirculates water for 10 minutes every hour. Recirculation pump assures purity is maintained without wasting valuable water, Fitted with an absolute 0.2 micron final tiger at the prod uct outlet which removes particles and/or bacteria at point of use. The Nanopure ~ Diamond TM Ultrapure Water Systems are capable of producing up to 1.5L/rain. of water with purity up to 18.2 megaohms- cm, which exoeeds ASTM, CAP, and NCCLS Type 1 water require- ments. The systems comply with USP XXIII guidelines for compen- sated and uncompensated resistivity measurements. They offer whis- per quiet operation with the newest pump technologies and include an automatic eanitization cycle, which helps keep the system clean and free of bacteria. The standby mode of operation maintains water quality by reeirculating water for fO minutes every hour during peri- ods of non-use. "[he 0.2-micron final filter assures delivery of bacte- rial and particle free water. The optional remote dispenser allows water to be dispensed up to 8-feet away from the system. Water purity readings can be verified with the electronic automatic calibra- tion system and the push burton display monitors resistivity, conduc- tivity, and temperature. Water purity documentation can be main- tained with data from the RS232 port. The unique diamond cartridge packs allow quick and easy installation with on~y one connection. BARNSTEAD REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEMS

Reverse osmosis (RO) utilizes pressure to reverse normal osmotic flow. In reverse osmosis water flows from a more concentrated solution across a semipermeable membrane to a less concentrated solution. A typical reverse osmosis system is effective in removing 90 to 95% of ionic impurities and virtually all particulates found in most potable water sup- plies. Large molecular weight organics (over 200) are effectively re- moved while smaller organics pass through the membrane. Gases readily pass through the reverse osmosis system, and will affect the purity of the product water. Bacteria and pyrogens, because of their relatively large size, are effectively removed. Therefore due to the limited removal capa- bilities of reverse osmosis, it is recommended as a pretreatment to cartridge water systems where cartridge life on raw water would be less than one week, and for stills to reduce scale formation. There are several different membranes available for RO. Prior to selection of the mem- brane, it is recommended that a sample of the water be submitted through us to Barnstead for a W.A.T.E.R. analysis.
