    Oven functions

OVEN L I GHT  : Separate light control which allows the light tobe switched on, even when the oven is not cooking.

HALF GR I L L :    This method of cooking utilises the inner part

only of the top element, which directs heat downwards ontothe food. This function is suitable for grilling small portions of

    bacon, toast and meat etc.

DEFROST MODE ( HOF6 0 0SS o n l y ) :    The fan runs withoutheat to reduce the defrosting time of frozen foods. The time

required to defrost the food will depend on the roomtemperature, the quantity and type of food. Always check food

    packaging for the defrosting instructions.

FAN OVEN ( HOF 6 0 0 SS o n l y ) : This method of cooking usesthe circular element while the heat is distributed by the fan.

This results in a faster and more economical cooking process.

and lower elements. This function is suitable for roasting andbaking on one shelf level only.

    FU L L GR I L L ( HOS 6 0 0 SS o n l y ) : This method of cooking

utilises the inner and outer parts of the top element, whichdirects heat downwards onto the food. This function is suitable

for grilling medium or large portions of sausages, bacon, steaks, fish

    etc.

BOTTOM ELEMENT ONLY ( HOS6 0 0SS o n l y ) :   This methodof cooking uses the lower element to direct heat upwards tothe food. For slow-cooking recipes or for warming up meals.

the food being cooked at an excessively high temperature orbeing placed in cookware that is too small.

o  You should make sure that the cooking temperature that is

selected is appropriate for the food that you are cooking. Youshould also ensure that the food is placed in an adequately sizeddish and use the enamelled baking tray where appropriate.

    o  I a m g e t t i n g co n d e n s a t io n i n m y o v e n

    *   Steam and condensation is a natural by product of cooking anyfood with high water content, such as frozen food, chicken etc.

    *   You may get condensation in the oven cavity and forming

between the oven door glasses. This is not necessarily a signthat the oven is not working correctly.

Do not leave food in the oven to cool after it has been cookedand the oven has been switched off.

Use a covered container, where practical, when cooking to

reduce the amount of condensation that forms.
