Message from Mrs. Flores, Principal Mensaje de la Directora Flores

At the beginning of each school year, any parent who has a child attending any school receiving Title I funds may request and receive, in a timely manner, information regarding the professional qualifications of the student’s classroom teachers. In addition, the parents may also ask whether the child is provided services by a para educator and, if so, his or her qualifications.

At Washington Elementary, we are very proud of our teachers and feel they are ready for the coming school year and are prepared to give your child a high-quality education. Our staff is committed to helping your child develop the academic knowledge and critical thinking he/she needs to succeed in school and beyond. That commitment includes making sure that all of our teachers and para educators are highly skilled. If you have any questions about your child’s assignment to a teacher or para educator, please contact Mrs. Flores, Principal at (360) 428-6122. Al comienzo de cada año escolar, cualquier padre que tiene un niño que asiste a cualquier escuela que recibe fondos de Título I, podrán solicitar y recibir, de manera oportuna, información sobre calificaciones profesionales de los maestros del estudiante. Además, los padres también pueden preguntar si el niño está recibiendo servicios de un auxiliar docente y, de ser así, sus calificaciones. En la escuela Washington, estamos muy orgullosos de nuestros maestros y sentimos que ellos están listos para el año escolar y se preparan para dar una educación de alta calidad a su hijo. Attendance Boundary Adjustment Committee

For the past year an Attendance Boundary Adjustment Committee has been working on creating new attendance boundaries for the Mount Vernon School District. With the construction of Rowley Elementary school, the upcoming completion of Madison Elementary and the closure of Lincoln as an elementary school, the new attendance area boundaries will go into place for the 2019-20 school year. During parent conference times in October two boundary maps will be on display in your school, along with information about the committee's work. Please take a moment to visit these displays before or after your conference times. There will be feedback forms available and we invite you to provide the committee with your thoughts. Ultimately, the committee will make a recommendation to the school board for adoption of new attendance areas. If you have questions, you can contact Bill Nutting, Assistant Superintendent, by email at bnutting@mvsd320.org or by phone at (360) 428-6113.

Comité De Ajuste De Los Límites De Asistencia Durante el último año un Comité de ajuste de los límites de asistencia ha estado trabajando en crear nuevos límites de asistencia para el Distrito Escolar de Mount Vernon. Con la construcción de la Primaria Rowley, la próxima finalización de la Primaria Madison y el cierre de Lincoln como una escuela primaria, las nuevas áreas de los límites de asistencia entrarán en vigor para el ciclo escolar 2019-2020. Durante las conferencias de padres en octubre, dos mapas de los límites de asistencia estarán en exhibición en su escuela, junto con información en cuanto al trabajo del comité.
