I think that everyoneshould at least try

on this experience!

WIC gave me an expensive dual electric breast pump to own. The breast pumpis small, portable, lightweight, and is designed to meet the needs of working

mothers.

Jamies StoryBreastfeeding myson has been one

of the mostrewarding

experiences of mylife. We got off to

a rocky startbecause he was¶tongue tied·.

Babies with tongue tie maybe unable to extend theirtongue past their lowergum line or properly cup

the breast during a feed.



WIC made very important referrals in a timely manner. WIC also gaveme a breast pump when I returned to work full time. The staff always

make me feel special by giving me lots of positive remarks on

breastfeeding my baby!

breastfed baby!

Ryden is now over 7 monthsold and is breastfeedingexclusively, he weighs 20

pounds and is about 27 inchesin length!

I never understood why all women didn'tbreastfeed. When I found out I was pregnant, Iknew I was going to breastfeed. It's one of the

most precious gifts a mother can give her baby.Not to mention all of the medical, financial andintellectual benefits that a baby will receive.

I breastfeed my

baby everywhereand discretely sothat people never

know what the babyis doing.



It is easy and Inever have to worry

about heating orbuying milk. Best ofall, my baby neverhad a cold. Did you

know thatbreastfed babies

have a higher IQ?

I believe all

women canbreastfeed.

One of the challenges I am facing currently is returning to Michigan Workswhere the staff are not very supportive of my breastfeeding in the workplace.My WIC Lactation Consultant is assisting me by intervening and speaking withthe building manager. Ever since then, I have been provided with a small room

where I can pump milk. WIC also gave me a wonderful pump to use while I am atwork!

I love breastfeeding,

I think it·s the mostnatural thing to do. Iwouldn't give up

breastfeeding my kidsfor the world.

WIC encouraged me to breastfeed throughout my pregnancy. I faced somenegative persuasion from my mother but I stuck with my choice to breastfeed.All three of my children have been exclusively breastfed. WIC also gave me a

breast pump to own!

Chris StoryMy wife and I decided along time before our sonwas born that we wantedto breastfeed. We bothfelt that both Jamie &

Ryden would be healthierif we did, and all of ourresearch seemed to

confirm this.

One of the neat thingsabout breastfeeding is

that in the middle of the

night when Ryden wouldneed to nurse, I would goget him from his crib andbring him to mommy to

nurse. I enjoy having thefamily together like that!

Chris advises parents to have the breastfeeding resource list withphone numbers readily available when going to the hospital. Happy
