  • Agenda:

  • Quick updates before we start:

    • Shielding of elders -> not approved (ISCG+HOSO)

    • On-going discussions about multisectorial approach to support

    elders as vulnerable population

    • No specific guidelines to access host’s communities (DC) – only

    critical activities as identified by government.

    • No COVID-19 cases in camps. Discipline in accessing the camp

    (mask, good health, critical activities only).

  • JRP Update – Why? How?

    - Under the lead of ISCG and sector coordinator (Julien leading for WASH)

    - To facilitate our collective planning and resource mobilization for the COVID-19 response (budget)

    - The COVID-19 Response Plan will describe the impact of the current situation on the JRP 2020. Can we continue activities as usual? Should we focus on new type of activities?...

  • - 20 April: email sent to JRP partners to revise their project template including Covid-19 needs

    - 26 April: Sectors submit revised response plan narrative and monitoring framework to ISCG

    - 29th April: Project template (excel) deadline for partner submission of any new COVID-19 related projects in excel to Sector Coordinators.

    - 5th May: Approval of project by review committee for project templates (BRAC, OXFAM, UNICEF)

    - 7th May: WASH sector to provide consolidated version to ISCG

    JRP Update - Agenda

  • JRP Update – Objectives and TargetObjectives1. Ensure regular, sufficient, equitable and dignified access for women, girls, men and boy

    refugees living in camps and affected host communities to safe water for drinking,

    domestic needs and medical purposes.

    1. Ensure women, girls, men and boy refugees living in camps, host communities oraffected by Covid-19 have adequate, appropriate and functional sanitation facilities toallow rapid, safe and secure access at all times.

    1. Ensure the change of potentially risky behaviors through hygiene promotion and

    distribution of hygiene items with strong focus on highly contagious diseases, for all

    refugees, affected and vulnerable communities of the district.

    Overall people in need of Sector assistance 1.284.000 people (JRP) + 400.000 (Covid-19)

    Overall People targeted (individuals – by sex and age) 1.420.000 people

    - People targeted – existing JRP 2020 caseload 1.120.000 people

    - People targeted - new COVID-19 response caseload 300.000 people

  • Adjustments to the JRP 2020Identify the JRP 2020 priorities

    95% of WASH priorities has identified within JRP will continue.

    Some activities will require some adjustment to focus on covid-19

    (e.g: Key hygiene messages and methodologies, to take into

    - Organise disinfection of WASH facilities and common spaces- Provide adequate WASH facilities in health care facilities and

    isolation centers - Increase coverage and operationalisation of hand-washing

    stations both in camps and host’s communities.- Strengthen hygiene promotion focusing on Covid-19 - Capacity building and protection (PPE) of staff, community

    volunteers to work in Covid context- Back up capacity by enrolling and orienting 2nd line volunteers

    and care & maintenance workers for lockdown context.

    JRP Update – Activities

  • Only JRP partners – submission by 29th of April

    - Budget requirement 2020 – JRP 2020 priorities

    115.5 million USD (for 12 months)

    - Budget requirement for new COVID-19 requirements (not costed in JRP 2020) + 10% to +15% of JRP (for 9 months)

    - At the moment, no SARI yet operational

    - List of isolation/SARI unit is updated every 2 weeks: a lot of fluctuations in the number of beds according to the progress (HR, structure, supplies…)

    - Isolation units: some of those will become SARI

    - If the numbers will go up, probably all the isolationunits will become SARI.

  • Hygiene items distribution during COVID-19

  • Hygiene items for patients in isolation- This week distribution will start: average 2 kits for isolation wards

    per bed

    - IOM has made available 1000 kits

    - To share with the Sector if you have additonal possibility to support(needs will depend on the evolution of the context), beyond the first 1000 kits (pre-identification)

    - No agreement yet on the hygiene kits needed for SARI patients. Health Sector to share needs and strategy (probably no needs in case patients are in severe conditions)

    - ACF and NGOF will support with some transportation (thanks) however appreciated joint contributions and internal coordination

  • Strategic aspects discussed:- Concerns about short-term & long-term availability of funds for the

    Rohingya response due to Covid-19- Request flexibility to your donors to adapt to Covid-19 (workplan,

    budget…).- Need to reorganize WASH monitoring of JRP (including infrastructures

    monitoring, 4W, harmonize HH survey)- Webinars / on-line meetings instead of workshop- Despite Covid-19 + drought emergency, Sector should also progress on

    long-term priorities (e.g: long-term water supply for Teknaf)
