Want To Quit Teaching: Things That You Should Not Do

Want to quit teaching? This is perhaps a dilemma for any teacher. While there may be moments in our teaching career that we do want to stop and break away from it, there are responsible and proper ways to do such a thing. Normally, teachers are afraid to discuss this concern with others - to the point that they will just leave in an instant. It may seem sudden to co-workers, but

it is something that has been brewing for a long time.

Though any concerns about quitting and breaking from a specific profession is hard, as a professional we must be aware of how to do it right. After all, given that we will look for another job, our relationship with our former employer will be investigated by the new company. Whatever the feedback is, it will either amplify your possibility of having the job, or worse - cause you to not get the job at all. Thus, here are things that you should not do when you are sure that you want to quit teaching.

1. Never be absent. Teachers as far as possible, if you have this inner thought of leaving the profession to never to be absent. Although you'll be just counting the days until your departure from the education profession or the school itself, always do your responsibility as a mentor. Do not let the students suffer and never to be absent without permission. This is compromising your current status and could pave the way for bad impressions on your end.

2. Don’t be unprofessional. Just because you are leaving soon does not mean that you do not tend to your work anymore. In fact, it is the best time to double your efforts so that administrators can see how productive you are. Your other colleagues and especially your students will be able to notice as well, leaving them only wonderful impressions of you. This can also be beneficial to your side so that the recommendation that will be given at the end will be sweet and pleasant.

3. Never accelerate the resigning process. Just because you want to stop teaching does not mean you will also accelerate the general procedure in school. Learn to be patient and know how to wait. If you are too willing to do this, administrators may think that you want to hastily go away from them. This may be another bad impression on your end. If there is a clear process and time frame agreed with, what you can do is to wait and continue with work.

These are just some of the things that teachers should be made to be aware so that they will not jeopardize their career come the time for them to quit. This is also valuable to others so they can not talk negatively about you once you leave school. If you want to quit teaching, surely it would be a breeze if the bullets are followed.
