PORTER TELEO
The creative vision of abstract artist Kelly Porter and designer Bridgett Cochran, Porter Teleo is an exquisite collection of handmade textiles and wall coverings that utilizes traditional fine art techniques. Using the finest materials and richest pigments available, Porter Teleo strives to amplify the vision of each individual designer….merging the beauty of fine art and design together into one world.
Porter, an award winning painter whose artwork hangs in museums, galleries and celebrity homes, and Cochran, a designer with an eye for detail and distinctiveness, quickly found a common bond: they were looking to capture and create something totally new for the design world.
The collaboration has resulted in an innovative way of making wallpaper and fabric, relying on an intuitive creative process. The result of their passion is a beautiful, unique collection with an energetic and visually stunning set of patterns and color palettes.
Within each new collection, Porter Teleo continues to push the limits with both original imagery and new palettes. Striving to break new ground in aesthetics, Porter Teleo aims to set the trends, rather than follow existing standards, constantly looking forward rather than around in order to bring the freshest product to the marketplace.

FAQWhat does Teleo mean?
The word originally comes from the Greek word Telos, which means end or purpose. Teleology refers to a type of aesthetic judgment in which the design of an object itself embodies its purpose. In the history of the philosophy of aesthetics, Teleological judgments of taste were at the root of understanding beauty and art.
Is the installation more difficult than with other papers?
These papers install in much the same manner as other wallpapers. We send a complete set of hanging instructions and are available during installation by phone. We do get questions from time to time and are able to answer them by phone within 24 hours.
How are these papers cleaned?
Regular dusting with a clean, damp, soft towel will ensure paper stays free of dust. A mild cleanser such as Caldrea that has been diluted by 50% can be used with a soft towel for light marks. For difficult marks, a white artist’s grade eraser is recommended. Additionally we can offer an acrylic sealer to be applied post production. This process is offered at a 20% charge and results in no apparent change in hand of the material.
Where is Porter Teleo made?
We source the very best quality grounds from the countries where they originate… Japanese papers are from Japan, our Belgian Linens from Belgium and our Silk Tafetta is from Asia. All of our patterning, painting, printing and surfacing of product is then carried out in the U.S.A. by a team of fine artists.
