The trailer starts of with the production company name of ‘Vertigo Films in the same font and layout as the company's logo, however in different colours to match the film. This being placed first is to show of the company due to it not being very well known or popular, so this will be the first thing viewers see on the trailer.

The first setting we see to represent the film is this foreign, sunny country with see and fantastic views suggesting to the audience that it will be a happy film due to the general connotations of sun, this is further emphasized by the recognisable, feel good music in the background ‘Walking on Sunshine’ which is also the film title.

We then get our first glimpse of characters who are seen first in the trailer typically suggesting that they are the main characters. It is a close up shot so we can clearly see their emotions of happiness and excitement, this may convey that the audience also have a reason to e excited and happy.

As the character says ‘that is insane!’ the music then comes to a sudden stop, conveying humour to the audience and also further suggesting that the ‘wedding’ mentioned will not happen, preparing the audience for the ending.

Here we see X-factor winner celebrity Leona Lewis staring in the film, which may further entice viewers to watch the film as a well known star is involved. Due to people not knowing she can act or not yet seeing she can act, it may persuade people to watch the film to see.

Here, the audience get the first hint that the film is in fact a musical due to the character singing about the boy she is staring at in the sea. This also suggests to the audience the film could be not only a comedy, but also a romance based film (Rom-com) with a unique twist of singing.

During this, we see a strong, toned appealing man to the audience which may entice viewers to watch it as the film is sexualising him to the audience.

We then see the first sign of problem in the trailer – the boy who the girl is fantasising of is her sisters fiancé. Which conveys dilemma, making the audience want to know who he will choose, signifying an enigma to the audience, due to the sisters being so close which may split them apart. This also conveys humour to the audience as it is so unexpected and sudden suggesting the film is unpredictable.

We can clearly see that the film as introduced and emphasized the love theme in the film. Conveying the romantic sun set and ocean waves in the background as the audience want to know if they will kiss or not due to this being the typical stereotypes on a romantic scene, which may suggest that they are in love.

A whole shot dedicated to ‘This Summer’ strongly emphasizes to the audience how this is a feel good, summer movie which has the purpose to get viewers in the mood for summer and sun. Being in the summer it suggests that more people will watch the film due to being of work or school. Coming out on DVD just in time for Christmas where people can start buying it for Christmas and reminisce about summer.

We can now see a whole cast singing and dancing in unison further emphasizing that the film is a musical and that it is catchy so it will make you remember the film. Also, due to the song being well known – it will make viewers want to sing a long. Also, the main character wearing red it conveys that she is in love which is also seen as she is singing about it.

Here, we can tell the genre of the music, which may entice older people to watch the film due to them being more familiar with the songs.
