What is Williams Syndrome?Williams syndrome is a genetic condition that is present at birth and can affect anyone. It is characterized by medical problems, including cardiovascular disease, developmental delays, and learning disabilities. These often occur side by side with striking verbal abilities, highly social personalities and an affinity for music.

Williams syndrome affects 1 in 10,000 people worldwide – an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 people in the United States who need our help.

Why the WSA?The Williams Syndrome Association (WSA) advocates for people and families living with Williams syndrome. It is the United States’ most comprehensive resource regarding Williams syndrome, providing materials, support and the latest medical information to help children diagnosed with the syndrome and their families. Addressing the challenges facing those with Williams syndrome from early childhood through adulthood, the WSA offers a variety of programs and services which additionally serve as tools for increasing public awareness and understanding of WS. The WSA also provides a strong and supportive community with which to connect throughout a child’s life. To learn more about the Williams Syndrome Association, please visit www.williams-syndrome.org

How You Can help?By joining us at the FM Walk for Williams, you will help raise critical awareness for Williams syndrome in our community. But that’s not all, the Fargo-Moorhead walk is just one of 86 awareness events which will be held throughout the United States this May. Together we can change the lives of people with Williams syndrome. Early detection and better medical care are increasing survival rates and improving life for people with WS. Cutting-edge research is leading to new insights and treatments and connections between families of those affected is empowering both parents and individuals with WS to reach new heights.

Your contribution will help the Williams Syndrome Association in their efforts to provide education, enrichment and support, not only to the scientific com-munity but even more importantly, to families affected by Williams syndrome.

What makes the FM Walk for Williams so special? Our children with Williams syndrome make every event special. Their gregari-ous and friendly personalities are sure to put a smile on your face.

By joining them at the Walk, and supporting the WSA you will not only have a wonderful time, you will truly make a difference in their lives, just as they will have an impact on you!

Please help us raise the profile of Williams syndrome, provide valuable funding for the WSA, and create brighter futures for people with Williams syndrome.

Saturday, May 5 at 10 a.m. • Lindenwood Park, Main Shelter 1712 5th Street South, Fargo, ND

Join us to celebrate the WSA’s 30th Anniversary and help increase awareness!

All money raised will directly enrich the lives of individuals and families affected by Williams syndrome through the work of the Williams Syndrome Association. Thank you for making this possible!
