Stakeholder Involvement Group (SIG)
Purpose:
o Defining transportation issues and needs
o Development and evaluation of alternatives
o Development of preferred alternatives
Responsibility:
o Commit to attend meetings (approximately 4)
o Collaborate with Project Consultant Team
o Agree to act as a team in a spirit of collaboration
o Candidly communicate local issues
o Respect all opinions
o Provide timely reviews of all submittals with constituent feedback
Membership Expectations
o Final project decisions will be made by LCDOT
o Because the project is going through the Federal process IDOT and the FHWA must approve the project
o Improvements involving US-41 must be approved by IDOT since this roadway is under their jurisdiction
Decision Making
LCDOT will utilize stakeholder input throughout the decision-making process

o Recommendation to build enough capacity at US-41 to accommodate for future community growth
o Recommendation to install stop signs and reduce speed limits at the Dilleys Road intersection
o Recommendation for the addition of a bicycle lane on Wadsworth Road at Kilbourne Road, connecting to Des Plaines trail and Delany Road

o Request for pedestrian and bicycle access from downtown Wadsworth to Prairie Trail Elementary School
o Recommendation for grade separation at US-41 and Wadsworth Road intersection
o Concern regarding right turns from Cashmore Road onto Wadsworth Road due to terrain and a recommendation to cut back hill to provide better visibility
