WA COUNTRY CRICKET 2014/15
Season 2014-15 has again been one of encouraging progress for the development of cricket in
Country WA.
The CSBP Regional Junior Cricket Program continues to flourish and there have been some
exciting developments in programs in the Pilbara & Kimberley Regions. The annual Scorecard
clearly shows the outcomes that have been achieved.
The conducting of the annual competitions has gone smoothly with the WACA’s Competitions Unit
providing invaluable support.
The CCB has elected two Independent members to the Board for the first time. I congratulate
Marlene Renton & Steve Gollan on their 2 year appointments.
WA will host the O/60s & O/70s Australian Championships for the first time in 2016. David
Horsley initiated & has successfully organized this component of the Masters program in recent
years.
WACA staff have continued to provide wonderful support for all our programs & competitions. I
particularly thank Steve Philippe (Country Cricket Manager), Tim Lees (Country Cricket
Coordinator), the Regional Cricket Managers, Nathaniel Kett (Pilbara officer), CCB members,
Regional Boards and the countless volunteers working for their Clubs & Associations.

WA Country XI and Colts
WA Country XI travelled to Bendigo for the Australian Country Cricket Championships and
performed strongly early but lost crucial matches to Victoria and Queensland that derailed their
chances. WA fast bowler Shayne Bidwell was named in the Australian Country Side following the
tournament.
The WA Country Colts had a promising season with two wins in the WACA One Day League
competition and again blooded a big number of players.
