Standards?
What standards?
Pilot Participants Should Be:
• Relative novices to the technologies being taught
• Representative of all aspects and departments in the UWA Library regardless of physical location
• Open to sharing their experiences with and ideas from the program with others
OutcomesParticipants Should:
• Be proficient in basic use of the tools introduced.
• Feel more comfortable using them than they have previously.
• Have an improved grasp of the principles behind their use.
Participants Should also:
• Feel more prepared to answer inquiries related to the tools from students and colleagues.
• Have an increased base level of knowledge about internet technologies.
• Have an increased understanding of where they might find information and support for new technologies.

What We Learned
What Worked:
• Blended format was a hit
• Workshops +++
• Bonus Content to keep them coming back
• Ongoing Support & Constant Feedback
• High level of Management support
What Didn’t:• Participants needed more than the
allocated time
• Teaching workload in first semester makes Librarian participation difficult
• CMO workload at start of semesters makes Library Officer participation difficult
• Supporting across multiple platforms Increases Workload
• Estimates of required IT Time Were not accurate
What Worked:
• Blended format was a hit
• Workshops +++
• Bonus Content to keep them coming back
• Ongoing Support & Constant Feedback
• High level of Management support
Next Time:
• Semester 2 rather than Semester 1
• Start several weeks into Semester
• Involve IT in the Planning Stages
• Increase Time for Workshops
• Restrict participant’s choice of Platforms
