This could be bringing them breakfast in the mornings before programming starts, writing notes of encouragement, baking cookies in the afternoon, or whatever you feel called to do! VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL DONATIONS!
This year is a little different than last
year. Victoria Bell and Tiffany Smith
have been working hard at creating
the VBS curriculum from scratch. The
crafts that they have chosen do not require a lot of extra
materials. We have most of the materials here at the church! If
you would like to donate money towards VBS, please talk with
Tiffany Smith; [email protected]. We can use the
money towards decorations and food! If you would like to
donate your time (even better!!), please see Tiffany Smith!
Those of you who have already volunteered, THANK YOU! This
year is going to be a great year for Chapel Hill UMC! More to
come!!

MUSIC NEWS
CHOIR
It has been requested that our choir continue to lead worship during
the summer months. We are looking for volunteers for a summer choir
to help give our regular choir members a little vacation. The summer
choir would NOT sing an anthem but would simply help lead the hymns
during Sunday morning worship. The rehearsal for the summer choir
would be Sunday mornings at 9:50 AM. That's it! Show up a shortly
before worship to rehearse the hymns and that's it! If anyone wishes to
volunteer to sing in place of the anthem, we will certainly take
volunteers! [email protected]
CHAPEL BELLS
Chapel Bells is in need of a few ringers! We are playing easier music to help train those who wish to learn. If you can count to 4, we can train you to ring a bell! [email protected]
CONCERT
Isiak Holiday, Jr’s concert will be Saturday, June 25th at 6 pm in the Chapel Hill Sanctuary. This is a FREE concert so please invite your family and friends to attend. The concert will be called "Honoring the Saints" The concert wishes to honor long time members (living and deceased) of Chapel Hill. We would like to put together a slide show to present at the concert. If you have a picture of someone you would like to honor, please send/give the picture to Isiak with their name. Please consider making a small donation to the Gerald Thompson Memorial Fund. Any donations from the concert will also be donated to this fund. This fund helps the music ministry with additional needs throughout the year. [email protected]
GIMME A “Y”, GIMME A “O”, GIMME A “U”! WHAT’S THAT SPELL? YOU!
We need YOU to be a Cheerleader for God’s Team! How? By joining the Prayer Ribbon Ministry! When we pray for one another we are sending cheers to God! Encouragement, well wishes, strength, health, endurance and VICTORY for whatever God’s will is for that person. So come root for your brother or sister in Christ and in return your brother or sister in Christ will root for Y-O-U! Contact Felice in person, or 214-417-6601 or [email protected] Please remember to turn in your current ribbons this coming Sunday, June 26th.
HAPPY 50TH TO CHAPEL HILL’S CHURCH LIBRARY!
CHUMC’s Library was established June 1966, 50 years ago!
The late Ted Falconer, a longtime member of the church,
had much to do with making the library a part of Chapel
Hill. Clark (deceased) and Mary Francis Waggoner worked
many hours cataloguing and getting the books on the
shelves. Pat Thompson served as librarian many years
keeping the library in good order. Vin and Kathy
Scheihagen served several years in the library but have
relinquished that duty so as to contribute their many
talents in other areas of the church. Is there anyone who
is interested in serving as Chapel Hill’s volunteer librarian
in 2016 and future years?
