• The all India daily average rainfall would be slightly below normal till the

end of August. It is expected to remain on the positive side of the normal

during the whole month of September.

• Daily average rainfall over Northwest India would be close to normal

during the month of September except for a few days during 1st/2nd week.

• Daily average rainfall over East and Northeast India would continue to be

deficient during the remaining part of August. It would be close to normal

during September.

• Central India is also likely to experience normal rainfall activity during the

month of September.

• The prolonged deficiency of rainfall over South Peninsula is expected to

end by August end. Normal activity is expected to resume beginning

September. An active spell is seen towards the end of September.
