It is time again for the annual Women of Nativity (WON) Advent Tree project. We are excited about this upcoming event and are very grateful to our faithful partners, the generous parishioners of our Church!
On November 23rd/24th and November 30th/December 1st, ornaments with holiday wishes will be placed on a Christmas tree in the narthex. Please take the ornaments of your choice and return the requested gifts to the Church narthex on the collection dates of December 7/8 and 14/15.
Wrapping instructions for each newly purchased gift are on the back of the ornament. Several of the organizations we service have requested the gifts be UNWRAPPED for easier distribution and to maintain the integrity of their program involving young children. Please securely attach the ornament you have chosen from the tree to the gift. This helps us greatly in separating and bagging the gifts for the various groups.
GIFT CARDS should be placed in an envelope with the recipient marked on the outside. Please write the gift card $$ amount on the gift card. It is easier to handle GIFT CARDS if they are not wrapped. We would very much appreciate your support and prayers for another successful Advent Tree Project.

of our less fortunate neighbors! Please feel free to contact Sally Quenneville at [email protected] OR Patrice Chadbourne at [email protected] with any questions.

“Throughout salvation history, God has welcomed repentant sinners with special joy. Jesus concludes the parable of the lost sheep with these words: ‘there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance’ (Lk 15:7).” USCCB Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities, “Life Matters: Forgiveness and Healing After Abortion.”

Nativity Italian Heritage & Cultural Society
Father Capodanno and Sainthood
Father Vincent Capodanno, fondly known as the Grunt Padre, was a Maryknoll Priest who was a military chaplain during the Vietnam War. He is being proposed for Sainthood. We will explore his life and a miracle being investigated at the next meeting of the Nativity Italian Heritage and Cultural Society, Thursday, November 21, at 7:00pm in the Nativity School cafete-ria. Father Capodanno was wounded on two different occasions during the war, then killed in 1967 while trying to rescue a wounded soldier. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. The frigate USS Capodanno was named for him, the first ship in the US fleet to receive a Papal blessing.
Our program speakers will be Mary Preece, vice-postulator of Father Capodanno’s Cause for Canonization and George Phillips, former chairman of the board of the Capodanno Guild.
A social hour will follow with snacks, wine and beverages. Please bring a dessert, appetizer or wine to share, if you can. All are welcome at our meet-ings. Family membership in the Society is $20; single $15; guests $5. For membership information, email [email protected] or join at a meeting.

Last year your generosity enabled us to give $120,000 in grants to support projects in our Diocese that assist our neighbors in
need. Bishop Burbidge personally approves all grant awards to ensure compliance with Catholic moral and social teaching.
Please consider giving to the CCHD collection. Thank you!

“…Rather, we wanted to present ourselves as a model for you, so that you might imitate us.” - 2 Thessalonians 3:9
Most people who live a grateful and generous lifestyle don't go around bragging about it. But through their actions and words, others do take notice. They notice because of the joy and peace
that results and other people desire this in their own life. Know that the way you live your life may be the only
interaction others have with our Catholic faith.

¡UN NUEVO DÍA NOS ESPERA! Domingo XXXIII ©
Javier Leoz
¿Qué hacer frente a ello?

“Muere lentamente quien no viaja, quien no lee,
muere lentamente quien destruye su amor propio;
quien no se deja ayudar. muere lentamente
quien se transforma en esclavo del hábito, repitiendo todos los días los mismos senderos;
Muere lentamente
quien no cambia la vida cuando está insatisfecho con su trabajo, o su amor;
quien no arriesga lo seguro por lo incierto para ir tras de un sueño;
¡Vive hoy! ¡Arriesga hoy!
¡Haz hoy!
