"DCHC- Moving into the 21st Century.....The time has finally arrived after many years of
working, building, and testing our new ElectronicHealth Record. Change is never easy, but the results
at the end of the day is what counts.First, I would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to all theemployees throughout the facility that have taken thetime out of their normal every day duties to help build

challenges and problems, but we will work to come upwith solutions.
Finally, let's not be scared of the new challenge ahead, but embrace it!

TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE
Trauma-informed care is not a therapy, intervention, orspecific action. It is an approach to engaging people with
histories of trauma that recognizes the presence oftrauma symptoms and acknowledges the role that
trauma has played in their lives. Trauma is extreme stressthat overwhelms a person's ability to cope. It can be anevent, a series of events, or set of circumstances that
harms a person's physical or emotional well-being.
The Four "R"s of Trauma-Informed Care
THERE ARE FOUR ELEMENTS OF A TRAUMA-INFORMED APPROACH.
