The classes E30, E60, E90 indicate the minimum time during which the electrical system can remain functional, according to test DIN 4102-12 where temperatures can reach up to 1000°C. i.e. E30 guarantees that electrical function is maintained for at least 30 minutes. This would be applicable for fire-alarm systems and other devices required for warning and escape. Products such as firefighting lifts, smoke and heat exhaust ventilators, and water pressure boosting systems for firefighting and resue are rated E90. Functional integrity is guaranteed for at least 90 minutes.

FE180

The rating FE180 indicates the insulation rating based on VDE 0472-814, IEC 60331, where FE stands for effect of flame and fire, and the number stands for duration in minutes. A test fire is applied horizontally from a distance of 60cm to a single suspended cable during a specified time. The test is passed when there was continuous circuit integrity and no extremely increased attenuation values during and after the test respectively. For instance FE180 cables can endure at least 180 minutes.

F400The rating F400 indicates the funtion duration, as per DIN EN 12101-3, where the number indicates the temperature at which 120 minutes of function could be maintained.
