From the Principal Dear Parents and Friends, Catholic Schools Week has been a busy celebration so far with Grandparents Day on Tuesday. The McAuley Hall was an excellent location for our Primary students to perform a mini concert. We had Singing, Poetry Readings, Line Dancing and stories about Donkeys. Swans of Tumut are currently investigating a woollen jumper for K-10 students which will be on sale during the Easter school holidays. We are sourcing a warm, machine washable, non itch, hard wearing jumper at a reasonable price. The current navy blue sloppy joe will be worn on sports days with navy trackpants/shorts/skorts, with the woollen jumper worn the other days with grey pants (boys), navy slacks and tunics (girls). The new woollen jumpers will be phased in over a 2 year period to allow students plenty of time to wear their current jumpers. A new wet weather jacket has been sourced and will also be available during the Easter school holidays (if not before) for purchase. The jackets will begin at a size 4-6, then sizes 8,10,12, 14, 16, S,M,L,XL,XXL,XXXL, XXXXL. Cost will be approx. $60 for smaller sizes and $65 for larger sizes. This is comparative to what we currently pay. Again these jackets will be phased in over a 2 year period. If you would like to order one of the NEW jackets, Swans has asked that you call into the shop in Wynyard Street and place your order ASAP. Some extra stock will be ordered as well. There will be a small wait (3-4 days) for jackets if you do not order. Orders will NOT be taken by the school, only Swan’s directly. A long sleeve white girl’s shirt with a peter pan collar will also be available for primary girls to wear under their tunics and with the navy slacks for winter. Boys long sleeve shirts will remain the same. Again the new girl’s shirts will be phased in over a 2 year period. They will sell at $30. At the beginning of 2019 all students will need to be wearing the new woollen jumpers, new wet weather jackets and long sleeve shirts for girls. All students should now be wearing navy shorts with MCCS embroidery or Canterbury shorts with small CCC embroidery in navy ONLY or skorts with MCCS embroidery and the red polo sports shirt. These are the only navy shorts to be worn, NOT basketball type material shorts or plain navy shorts in other brands. TRACKPANTS Just a reminder with winter coming up that plain navy track pants purchased from Swan’s and Canterbury pants with CC embroidered in NAVY are permitted only. We appreciate your support in purchasing the correct track pants for your child. Thank you for your support. Kerrin Henderson, Asst Principal

On Wednesday morning the school community continued with Catholic Schools Week celebrations with Mass. Fr Sijo was the celebrant with our school leaders reading the relevant parts and bringing forward the Gifts. Catholic Education is a significant contributor to the education of young Australians with 1 in 5 children in Australia attending a Catholic school. Well done to the school leaders and Miss Mason for her organisation of this significant event in the life of the school.

Today we see our Chisholm House fundraiser. Students were encouraged to dress in RED or wear something beginning with C and students brought in Cup-Cakes to sell. Thank you to all families who made a donation or provided Cup-cakes, all funds will be donated to Legacy Australia.

Legacy is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans, servicemen and women, and volunteers drawn from all walks of life. Their support and services now extend to include the dependants of members of today's Aus-tralian Defence Force who lose their lives or their health as a result of their military service. Today Legacy's caring and compassionate service assists over 70,000 widows and 1,900

children and dependants with a disability.

With upcoming Government Guideline changes for all school canteens—we are seeking interested parents who would like to contribute in sourcing new and delicious, cost effective, healthy products for our canteen. If you would like to have input, please contact the school office.

In closing don’t forget to ‘like’ our Face-book page for up to date happenings

Thank you for your support during this busy Catholic Schools Week.

God bless everyone.

McAuley UNIFORM NEWS The school would like to congratulate and thank students and parents for their support in ensuring the correct school uniform is worn to school each day. There has been a remarkable improvement since school has commenced this year with many positive comments received from both our Parish and Tumut communities regarding how well presented our McAuley students are.

Parking Infringements We have received a phone call from Valmar in regard to parents parking in their driveway and driving into their yard to turn around at afternoon pick up time. Valmar operates like a school and as such has clients walking in the yard. We ask that you please do not do this. Sadly police have been notified of this situation.

We also ask that parents DO NOT drop off and pick up children of a morning and afternoon, in the designated SCHOOL BUS ZONE. This is located in Capper Street outside the church and runs along the side of Capper Street for quite a distance. Signs are provided to assist you. We have noticed that parents are using this area to drop off children when they are running late of a morning. Please drive around to the back of the church and ask your child to use the back gate.

A REMINDER that all students and parents are to exit the school through the back gate, NOT through the bus lines please.

Thanks for your support in keeping our children safe.
