VTT Brazil in brief
VTT Brazil Ltda is a locally registered company run by 90% local staff. Current headcount: 13 persons.
VTT Brazil started operation in March 2011.
VTT Brazil was set up as a joint laboratory space with Kemira in an R&D centre in São Paulo / Barueri.
VTT has an objective to grow to a 20-30 person research centre in Brazil during the next years.

VTT Brazil Projects and Research
VTT and Kemira have had a research partnership in the
fields of Water reuse, Biomass utilisation and Sustainable
water chemistry.
VTT Brazil together with Odebrecht Agroindustrial (formerly
ETH) and Metso presented a project and were selected for
participating in the PAISS programme focused in the
processing of sugar cane biomass.
VTT Brazil has participated in CNPq/Academy of Finland call in
collaboration with other universities.

In Brazil it is necessary to operate at least partly in
Portuguese – Not easy to find rapidly high level technical
experts with good English skills
Learn from Brazilians since there is often a lot of high
level expertise in the country. Keep an open and
responsive attitude.
