HEALTHY FOOD SUBSTITUTIONS

Mashed Avocado for Butter:

When using avocado in lieu of butter, substitute 1 cup of pureed avocado for every 1 cup of butter.

Reduce your oven temperature by 25 percent and increase your baking time. This will help to prevent your cake from rising up in the middle or, alternatively, caving in. It'll also prevent the cake from browning too quickly.

Nuts and Seeds for Croutons:Use pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, or any nuts to add the crunch to your salad. Roast with a little garlic, salt, etc to add more flavor.

Mashed bananas, applesauce, pumpkin etc instead of oils, butter, or sugarUse a 1 to 1 ratio, however when using fruit instead, cut the cooking time about 25%. In addition if you are replacing the sugar for instance, use a bit less wet ingredients.

Zucchini Noodles or Spaghetti Squash for Pasta

Greek Yogurt for Sour CreamUse 1 to 1 ratio

Maple Syrup for SugarUse ¾ of a cup to 1 cup of sugar. Also reduce 3 TB of liquid in the dish for every ¾ cup used.
