In SAN DIEGOour Holy Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 12th.of January at 4:00pm. in the St John’s Parish Hall, 4005 Normal St, San Diego, CA 92103, on the corner of Normal st. and Lincoln Ave. Refreshments will be available after mass.
In LOS ANGELESwe will have TWO Holy Masses in January:
#1 will be celebrated on Sunday 13th of January at 2:15pm, in Velehrad - 344 Koch Avenue Placentia, CA 92870 USA
#2 will be celebrated on Sunday 20th of January at 2:15pm in the St John Paul II Polish Center, 3999 Rose Drive, Yorba Linda 92886. A free concert with Standa Barek and Kayya will follow after mass. More information on page 8.
In SAN FRANCISCOour next Holy Mass is scheduled for 28th of April.

The baptism of Jesus is recorded in the Gospel Bible books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. In this story we see that Jesus approaches John and asks to be baptized. John has been proclaiming the Gospel and baptizing those who repent of their sin, want to make right their relationship with God, and await the coming Messiah. John is astonished that Jesus, the sinless Son of God, is asking to be baptized and John feels like he should be the one asking
Jesus to baptize him!
Jesus tells John that His baptism is “fi tting for us to fulfi ll all righteousness”. Jesus is baptized as a symbol of giving His will up to His Father and the beginning of His earthly ministry. When Jesus comes up out of the water, John sees the Spirit of God descend like a dove upon Jesus and they hear God’s voice from heaven say “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.”

On January 20, in the large hall of the Polish Center, celebrated Prague guitarist Standa Barek and vocalist Kayya will entertain the Czech community and their guests with a free concert. Beginning at about 3:30, Standa will perform, then Kayya, and fi nally they will play together. This concert is Standa’s gift for the hospitality he has enjoyed at our Velehrad and we hope everyone will be able to attend.

Christmas communion servicein San Diego
In the absence of a celebrant, Petr Peterka conducted a service and the people got together for Christmas songs with around 40 people in attendance.
Our following Holy Masses will be celebrated on Saturday 12th.
