Sarosh Homi Kapadia, Chief Justice of

India, has few interests other than the

law. One of them is going for walks. As

a young man, Kapadia used to drag his

younger brother (now a retired

banker) all over Mumbai for walks that

would, almost invariably, end at

Narayan Dabholkar Road, the breezy

avenue off Napean Sea Road where

high court judges have their

apartments. The two brothers would

look at the buildings and young Sarosh

would say: “One day, the name on that

nameplate will be mine”.

His father was a clerk in a defence

establ i shment, h is mother a

homemaker. There was enough to eat,

but barely. Kapadia completed his BA

and LLB and immediately began

working. Higher education would have

been a luxury. The young Sarosh may

not have been rich but what he did

p o s s e s s w a s a m b i t i o n a n d

determination to become a judge.

His wish was granted in October 1991,

when he was made a judge of the

Bombay High Court.

On August 5, 2003, he was appointed

the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand

High Court. On December 18, 2003, he

was elevated to the Supreme Court.

Kapadia's deep knowledge on wide

ranging issues, particularly tax laws,

has earned him accolades from the

Bench and the Bar in equal measure.

Justice Kapadia, who is known for

maintaining strict judicial discipline,

assumes the office at a crucial time

when Indian judiciary is hit by

corruption controversy and perceived

failure of in-house mechanism on

appointment and elevation of judges.

President Pratibha Pati l has

appointed Sarosh Homi Kapadia, the

38th Chief Justice of India (CJI), and

the 62-year-old judge has taken over

from incumbent Chief Justice K G

Balakrishnan on May 12 and would

remain at the helm of Indian Judiciary

till September 29, 2012. Justice

Kapadia was associated with a

historical judgment in which a five-

judge Constitutional Bench had held

that the law put in the Ninth Schedule

was open for judicial review.

However, the real test for Justice

Kapadia would be to take a stand on

whether or not the office of CJI comes

under the ambit of the Right to

Information Act as the present CJI K G

Balakrishnan has consistently

maintained that it has to be kept out

of the purview of the Right to

Information (RTI) Act.

The issue assumes importance as the

Delhi High Court had dismissed the

stand of Justice Balakrishnan after

which the Supreme Court Registry

appealed to the apex court.

Justice Kapadia, will have a tenure of

2 years and 4 months.

Why is the figure 1652

prominently displayed everywhere?

Does it have some magical charm??

The figure spells magic

of hard work in form of

fter completing schooling from Bal Vidhyalaya, Baran Road, Kota. I joined Engineering College, Kota in A

1989 with rank 197. I completed my Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. in Mechanical Engineering) in 1993 and then I completed my P.G.D.M. with specialization in operations Management from AIMA, New Delhi in the year of 1997.

Being an industrial professional, didn't give me any job-satisfaction, as some-where from the very beginning, I was naturally inclined towards teaching. My natural instinct and love for teaching motivated me to take up teaching as my profession. In 2004, I joined Resonance and began teaching F- phase. But after the formation of B-batch, I started teaching all the batches of B-Batch. I found teaching at Resonance, entirely different and more planned as compared to the other institutes. By implementing the suggestions and guidelines of R.K.V. Sir and L.K. Sir, I got success in handling and preparing all the DPPs and Test papers of B-phase single handedly and enjoyed the work very much. I used to take doubt classes without any formal schedule and even at odd times (such as 8 pm to 11 pm) for the benefit of the students. I would also like to thank YG sir and KJ sir for their kind cooperation

during the very first year of my service in Resonance. In 2007, my family was awarded as 'best-family' in 'VILAY' and that became an unforgettable and proud moment for me. I am blessed with two lovely children, Saumaya & Sarthak and a wife, Aditi.

Clear Vision and Mission, professional working environment and able leadership of R.K.V. sir makes Resonance Eduventures Pvt. Ltd. (R.E.P.L.) one of the best coaching institutes. Undoubtedly the entire credit of such a tremendous growth of Resonance goes to the perfect team work under the worthy leadership of R.K.V. Sir.

With growth attained at such a fast p a ce , v e r y s oon Re s onance Eduventures Pvt. Ltd will become public limited. The growth of Resonance will at some point of time will make it assume the reputation of Infosys and I feel proud to be associated with such dynamic organization. I believe in teamwork and will contribute as a team- member in the growth process of the organization. I will try my best to fulfill the responsibility given to me by R.K.V. sir and the organization.
