1. VPN (GlobalProtect) installation & Connection guide for Windows

Currently Supported Versions: -

Windows 10 (32-bit and 64-bit)

Windows 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit)



You can check if your Windows OS is 32 bit or 64 bit by right click on “My Computer” -->Click on Properties. It will show under “System” in right pane.

INSTALLATION

1. Enter https://sitvpn.singaporetech.edu.sg on your browser and enter the login information as stated below.

For Students: Name : stu.siat.edu.sg\<student ID> Password : <your student ID password>

2. Click on the respective Download Windows GlobalProtect agent.

You can check if your Windows OS is 32 bit or 64 bit by right click on “My Computer” -->Click on Properties. It will show under “System” in right pane.

3. Download the respective Windows GlobalProtect agent.


4. Install using the setup file downloaded in above step.

5. Install the software by selecting next on upcoming screens until Installation Complete. Click “Yes” or “Accept” if your Windows prompt for “ to allow this app to make changes to your devices”.


CONNECTION

1. Open the “GlobalProtect” which is installed on your laptop.

2. Enter the following information as stated below.

Portal : sitvpn.singaporetech.edu.sg Username : stu.siat.edu.sg\<student ID>

Password : <your student ID password>

Click “Connect” 3. The status will change to “Connecting” and eventually “Connected” as

shown below.

You are now ready to connect to SIT Intranet services.


After using SIT Intranet services, please disconnect the VPN connection as follow. 4. To disconnect the VPN

Either go to Home tab of GlobalProtect and click “Disconnect” or go to "System Tray" -- Right Click on GlobalProtect icon as shown and click "Disconnect"

5. The icon will change as shown.


Auto GlobalProtect agent upgrade 6. If you are running a lower version of GlobalProtect agent, then it will be

auto upgraded after you login. The following message will appear on screen near system tray.

7. After the auto upgrade is finished, you will be disconnected as shown. 8. To connect VPN again.

Go to "System Tray" -- Right Click on GlobalProtect icon as shown and click "Connect"

9. The icon will change as shown below once connected.


Helpdesk Support 10. Should you face any issues, please provide your settings and details as

shown below to IT Helpdesk.

Go to "System Tray" -- Right Click on GlobalProtect icon as shown and click "Show Panel"

On panel, click on Details tab.

INSTALLATION

1. Enter https://sitvpn.singaporetech.edu.sg on your browser and enter

the login information as stated below.

2. You will see the following screen.

Click on Download MAC 32/64 bit GlobalProtect agent.

3. After the download completes, locate and launch the installer. 4. Click Continue 5. Click Continue again and then click Install


6. If prompted to allow the Installer, enter your Mac OSX username and

password, click Install Software.

CONNECTION

1. Open the “GlobalProtect” which is installed on your laptop.

2. Enter the following information as stated below.

For Students: Portal : sitvpn.singaporetech.edu.sg

Username : stu.siat.edu.sg\<student ID> Password : <your student ID password>


3. Click Connect and eventually you will be connected.


After using SIT Intranet services, please disconnect the VPN connection as follow.

4. To disconnect the VPN

Click on GlobalProtect icon as shown and click "Disconnect"

5. The icon will change as shown.

Auto GlobalProtect agent upgrade

6. If you are running a lower version of GlobalProtect agent, then it will be auto upgraded after you login. The following message will appear at the top right corner of screen near GlobalProtect logo.


7. After upgrade is finished, you will be disconnected as shown.

8. To connect VPN again.

Click on GlobalProtect Icon and click connect as shown. 9. The icon will change as shown below once connected.


Helpdesk Support

10. Should you face any issues, please provide your settings and details as shown below to IT Helpdesk.

Click on GlobalProtect icon as shown and click "Show Panel" and go to Details tab.

Android 4.0.3 and later

1. Search and Install GlobalProtect client from Play Store and Accept to acknowledge that GlobalProtect needs elevated permissions.

2. Once the installation is completed, select OPEN.


3. Enter the following information as stated below and select Connect.

For Students: Portal : sitvpn.singaporetech.edu.sg

Username : stu.siat.edu.sg\<student ID> Password : <your student ID password>


4. Select OK to allow connection and you will be connected as shown.



5. To see the connection details, select 6. To disconnect from Global Protect, bring up your notification panel as shown below. Select “VPN is activated by......” and select Disconnect.

1. Search and Install “GlobalProtect” from App Store and select OPEN.

2. Enter the server information as stated below and select Connect.

Server : sitvpn.singaporetech.edu.sg


Enter the login information as stated below and select OK. For Students:

Account : stu.siat.edu.sg\<student ID> Password : <your student ID password>

3. Eventually VPN will be connected as shown on top of your iPhone indicated by the red arrow



4. To view the connection details, select

after opening the GlobalProtect App and select Details.

5. To disconnect the VPN, open the GlobalProtect app and select

Disconnect.
