VPHS delegates bag awards in the 11 th National YES Camp Vinzons Pilot High School (VPHS) represented by 33 delegates, left Baguio City with another victorious experience as they won in different contest in the 11 th National YES Camp held at the Teacher’s Camp last April 9 -12, 2013. The 2013 YES Camp which carried the theme “Reducing Our Carbon Footprint” advocates in turning its campers to be concerned and responsible young environmentalists. Such objectives were carried out by organizing events and contests. The camp started with the Film Showing of “The Lorax” followed by the essay writing for theme capturing. These events were participated by all participants along with the symposium. All the other contests started simultaneously on the second day of the camp. The Debate Team of VPHS composed of Trojan Troy C. Pabico, Jan Nielle Murillo and Marianne C. Garcia then proved such argumentative skills as they competed in the written tests and placed second in the semi-finals. And in the Grand Debate, the debaters were also declared as the grand champion of the competition and Pabico bagged the award of Best Debater. Louise T. Yanto, the team’s adjudicator competed against five other contestants and won second place in the adjudicating contest. The team’s coach was Jason N. Bargo. In Lakan at Lakambini ng Kalikasan, VPHS bagged another place as Michael Raven R. Torres placed second. His coach was Theresa G. Esta, the YES-O Adviser. Other events competed were Exhibit and Poster-making which were coached by Exelsa Buan; Spotlight by Alona C. Cabanela and the Speech Choir which was coached by Al Bambino M. Camifno.
