The day I met
Humphrey the CamelIt was Monday 1st December, It was a normalmonotonous day (or at least that was what Ithought before the surprise). We went into thehall for our usual Monday morning assemblyand today, Mrs. Dhesi was talking about holi-days and reminders. Abruptly a perplexed maninstantaneously ran in to the hall his name, welater found out, was Archibald Google; he washere to tell us about his astonishing spice travel-ling adventures. He had come to school with hiscamel. His camel was named Humphrey and hehad left him outside, at rst I didnt believe him!He began to tell us that he had a map and thathe needed our help to nd out where all of hisspices had come from and from what part of theworld the stories belonged to.
In class we began to look at a story with amoral. We produced our own writing and linkedit in to spice too. At last it was time to meetHumphrey! I was actually really excited, I think
most of the class were too! As we were walkingtowards the school eld, trying to get to thecamel, we saw a truck lled with hay.
Then, at last we saw him Humphrey! Hewas extremely tall. He was chewing straw andgazing at us. The boys in our class touched him
and so did I. However, the rest of the girls were
either too scared or just didnt want to touchhim. Whilst he was chewing, we could see hissaliva slithering out of his mouth! EWW!!! Afterasking some questions and listening to his ownerspeaking about him, it was time to go back toclass, it seemed odd as we walked back to 6Aas we were still in awe of seeing the camel!
A few hours later, we went to meetArchibald Google in the dance studio to talkabout spices and the map. When we enteredthe room, the map was laid out on the oor and
we were asked to sit in a semi-circle in front ofit. Then, Mr Google started to talk about howhe needed our help to name all of the places onthe map and link in where the spices had beentaken from. Behind him was a table with thedifferent spices on, we got to look at all of thedifferent spices and to smell them too
This day was so awesome that we had tomake it memorable, so all of the classes ar-ranged to perform either a poem, dance, songor drama to parents and visitors at the end of
the week at a special celebration assembly. Ourplay was about a Good Samaritan. We had funlearning and performing it.By Jaskirat Kaur, 6A
