SUPPORTING CHINGFORD MOUNT Conservative Councillors will fight every day for our town centre
It may have been bitterly cold, but people came out
and enjoyed the Night Feast market last year
FIGHTING LABOUR’S
NEW TAX ON DRIVING
The Labour Mayor of London wants to charge you
£12.50 to drive across the A406. Our Labour
Council wants to charge you to drive anywhere in
our Borough.
Despite falling emissions over the last ten years,
Labour politicians in London, including Waltham
Forest’s Labour Councillors, are behind plans to
charge you £12.50 every day you drive your car.
This will hit older people who will be charged to drive
to Whipps Cross, and people in low paid jobs who
can’t afford to change their vehicles. There’s also no
“residents’ exemption” so all non-exempt vehicles will
be charged.
London Conservatives oppose these plans. The cost
of installing cameras is almost £1bn and the Mayor’s
office have confirmed this will actually make
pollution worse near the North Circular Road through
Chingford and Highams Park.
Conservatives would tackle pollution by changing the

Chingford Mount clearly isn’t a priority
for our Labour Council.
They tried to take away our 15 minutes free
parking in 2016, but Conservative
Councillors organised a petition which
attracted over 6,000 signatures - Labour
dropped their plans
We have worked hard with Love South
Chingford to bring the French and Italian
markets here and we helped organise the
Night Feast market last year.
We are really pleased we also now have a
regular Saturday market at the Mount.
We want to boost local trade with a “shop
local” loyalty card scheme to encourage
more people to use their local shops and
we want on-street parking to be free for 30
minutes. We will fight for this to be
extended to the Hall Lane car park as well.
This will give a real boost to our shops,
businesses and the markets.

WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE CONSERVATIVE
WE OPPOSE LABOUR’S NEW TAXES ON DRIVING Labour want to charge you £12.50 to drive anywhere in Waltham Forest. We want to see
pollution tackled with cleaner buses, more electric vehicle charging points, air-cleaning
technology, more trees and fewer diesel vehicles.
WE SUPPORT 30 MINUTES FREE PARKING FOR OUR TOWN CENTRES We got you 15 Minutes Free Parking and saved it when Labour tried to take it away. Now we
want to see it extended to 30 minutes, on-street and in Council car parks. This will boost
trade in our local shops and support local businesses.
WE WILL REPAIR ALL OUR ROADS AND PAVEMENTS Within two years we will re-surface or properly repair every road and pavement that needs it.
We will not spend another penny on Mini-Holland projects until this is done.
WE WILL BUILD GENUINELY AFFORDABLE HOMES We will hold developers to their promises and deliver homes to rent and buy at genuinely
affordable prices and rents.
CONSERVATIVES OFFER COUNCIL TAX FREEZE Waltham Forest Labour just put your Council Tax up by 5%
YOUR LARKSWOOD CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATES JOHN MOSS @John_J_C_Moss John has been your Councillor since 2012. He has led campaigns against taking
away 15 Minutes Free Parking and the closure of the Social Services Hub in Hall
Lane. He is a surveyor and regularly sits on the Planning Committee, where he has
voted against developments with no affordable housing and inadequate parking.
CATHERINE SAUMAREZ @CatSaumarez Catherine is a cellist who played for more than ten years with Britain’s leading
Orchestras. She now teaches at a number of schools across London. She has
helped secure funding for an organic garden and social space at a local Council
estate and wans to help improve our green spaces, enhance music provision in
the Borough and work to improve conditions for local businesses.
SELINA SEESUNKUR @selinathinks Selina has over 10 years’ public sector experience managing services like park-
ing, roads and markets. A former member of the Love South Chingford Group she
wants to put South Chingford on the map with events like the Night Feast,
which she brought to Chingford Mount. She is the inspiration for the “shop local”
loyalty scheme we want to bring to Chingford.
OUR WORK AROUND LARKSWOOD WARD
Supporting new residents and
businesses
We have helped new
residents with
problems like building
defects and heating
costs, organising two
meetings with L&Q.
We also helped Cuma
in the café sort out his Business Rates.
We’re still appalled Labour Councillors
have let L&Q off their promise to open
the Sports Centre for so long.
Speaking out against
inappropriate
development
Labour want to build a
six storey building in
Lena Kennedy Close
with 47 extra homes
but little parking. This
isn’t right for this site and will make
existing parking problems worse.
Conservative Councillors supported
family houses with gardens and parking,
but Labour rejected this.
Protecting our heritage
The Ropers Field
Conservation Area is a
fine example of post-
WW2 Council Housing.
We got the windows
replaced in the Council
homes and have advised
residents on what they
can do to improve their homes.
Conservative Councillors will always
protect the character of our area.
Protecting Services
for Older People in
Chingford
When Labour
threatened to evict
Age UK and other
charities from the
South Chingford Hub,
Conservative Councillors stepped in.
Over 1,500 people signed our petition
and we think it is safe for the time being.
But we can’t be sure it is safe under
Labour. Another reason to vote for a
Strong Conservative Opposition
Improving Access to
Ainslie and Larks
woods
When Tesco was built
in Highams Park, over
£100,000 was set
aside to improve the
Ainslie and Larks
woods. Conservatives are working with
the Council officers and the Friends of
Ainslie and Larks Woods to see this
money spent to help open up access to
less able-bodied people and to clear and
clean up the woods.

WORK FOR ALL OF YOU
ALL OF THE TIME
VOTE CONSERVATIVE on the 3rd of MAY
Conservative Councillors found savings in the budget which
would have spared you 60% of this increase, without affecting
front-line services. Labour Councillors voted it through anyway.
Our plans would have saved money by;
housing more people in long-term rental homes rather
than expensive bed and breakfast accommodation
using the fees collected from Landlord Licensing, rather
than hoarding this in reserves
reducing publicity spending by £150,000
reducing the spending on expensive consultants, and
budgeting better so very large contingencies were not
needed.
LABOUR REJECTED THESE SAVINGS It’s your money that
Labour are wasting!
