BCM Appoints New Services Director and

Emergency Assistance Program Manager

We are excited to announce the promotions of two staff members, Eloise

Williams and Najah Douglass, as of August 31, 2015. Eloise, BCM’s Foundation

3 Manager/Case Management Supervisor, has been appointed as the Services

Director and Najah Douglass, BCM’s Emergency Assistance Coordinator, has

been appointed as the new Emergency Assistance Manager.

Eloise has a degree in Social Work and has

been a member of the BCM family in a case

management and program management

capacity for more than thirteen (13) years.

She was instrumental in the development of

all of BCM’s signature programs and also

worked extensively at Buckhead

Thriftique. Eloise has fully embraced this

growth opportunity and will be a tremendous

asset to the leadership team.

Najah started at BCM as a volunteer in May 2013 and

joined the BCM staff as the Emergency Assistance

Coordinator in July 2013. She is currently completing

her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services at

Kennesaw State University and is scheduled to

graduate in May 2016. Najah is excited for her new

role at BCM and continuing to serve our clients and

financial appointment for utility assistance,

please make two copies of the utility bill.

Intake Volunteers: Please make sure all

forms are signed by the client and yourself

prior to seeing a staff.

Helpline Volunteers: When giving an

appointment, please always have the client

provide proof of employment to include:

check stubs, direct deposits, print out of

department of labor wage report, print out of

wage history from deposit credit

card. Please see staff if you have any

questions regarding the documents needed.

Intake Volunteers: In an effort to protect

the privacy and confidentiality of our

clients, please remember the following

procedures:

1. Only use the first or last name

when calling someone back to the

intake rooms. Full names should not

be used in the lobby or with other

volunteers.

2. If someone in the lobby is looking

for a client in an intake room, do not

confirm or inform the person if

someone is being seen. Please ask the

person to call the client on the phone

and let the client know someone is

asking for them in the lobby.

incoming donations, please remember to

check the expiration date and packaging

August Volunteer of the Month

CONGRATULATIONS, KIP TEDESCHI

Kip is one of our regular Friday afternoon food pantry

volunteers. He has volunteered with BCM for over five

years and is dedicated to keeping our pantry fully stocked

and organized. Kip not only serves in our pantry, but also

volunteers at our Tee it Up Golf Tournament each year.

Thank you for all that you do, Kip!

Nominate someone today to be the September Volunteer

of the Month by emailing your nomination to Tiffany at

[email protected].

Financial Assistance update:

When seeing a financial appointment for utility assistance please make two copies of the utility bill.

When filling out the authorization to release form, always mark: Rental/Morgtage history, Utility information, Employment verification and other agencies.

Please make sure all forms are signed by client and volunteer prior to seeing a staff.

Helpline Updates:

When giving an appointment please always have client provide proof of employment: check stubs, direct deposits, print out of department of labor wage report, print out of wage history from deposit credit card. Please see staff if you have any questions regarding the documents needed.

Stolen purse and police report cannot be an emergency to give a client an appointment, if a client calls and this is their emergency and you have questions please see staff for assistance.

Please make sure to ask every question on the helpline intake form to include if client is paid cash or self-employed. This is a very important ques-tions to ask to determine what documents they will need to bring as proof of employment.

Emergency Assistance Update:

When calling a client to the intake room, please call them by their first or last name, but not both.

Good rule of thumb is to always sit closet to the door when in the intake room with a client.

If someone in the lobby is looking for a client in the intake room, never let the person know if someone is being seen. Please ask the person to call them on their phone and let the client in the intake room know that someone is looking for them in the lobby.

Farwell Letter from Brandi

Underwood

To my BCM Family,

I am thankful to God for allowing me to have an opportunity to

work with such a great group of people. After much prayer

and consideration, I have decided to accept an advanced role

with another organization.

This has been one of the most

difficult decisions that I have

had to make in a very long

time. However, I know that this

ministry will continue to grow

and flourish because of the heart

and passion of people like

you. Thank you for supporting

me through so many special

moments in my life. A lot of

you have seen me through

engagement, marriage, grad

school and two

pregnancies. Needless to say, I

appreciate every word of

encouragement, expression of

gratitude, gift and most of all

your prayers.

Each of you hold a special place in my heart and have

tremendously blessed my life! I am not going to say goodbye,

but until next time. I am sure that our paths will cross again in

some form or fashion. I look forward to hearing of all the great

work that you all will do to continue supporting BCM.

May God continue to cover and bless each and every one of

you!

With love,

Brandi
