VOLUNTEERCODEOFETHICSANDRULES

1.Smokingoruseoftobaccoproductsisprohibited.

2.Using,possessing,orbeingundertheinfluenceofalcoholorillegaldrugswillnot

betolerated.3.Volunteersshallnotabusechildrenincluding:

PhysicalAbuse-strike,spank,shakeorslap

VerbalAbuse-humiliate,degrade,threaten

SexualAbuse-includinginappropriatetouchingandexposure

MentalAbuse-shaming,withholdinglove,cruelty

Neglect-withholdingfood,water,basiccare,etc.

4.Volunteersmusttreatpeopleofallraces,religions,andcultureswithrespectand

consideration.

5.Volunteersmustusepositivetechniquesofguidance,includingpositivereinforcementand

encouragementratherthancompetition,comparisonorcriticism.

6.Volunteersshallabstainfromhumiliatingorfrighteningdisciplinetechniques.

7.Volunteersshallnotuseprofanity.

8.Volunteerswillrefrainfromintimatedisplaysofaffectiontowardothersinthe

presenceofchildren,parentsandstaff.

9.Monetaryandexpensivegiftstovolunteersareprohibited.

10.Volunteersmustbefreeofphysicalandpsychologicalconditionsthatmight

adverselyaffectmember/programparticipantshealth,includingfeveror

contagiousconditions.

11.Volunteerswillportrayapositiverolemodelforyouthandadultsby

maintaininganattitude

ofrespect,loyalty,patience,integrity,courtesy,tactandmaturity.

12.Volunteersmustavoidbeingputinasituationwheretheyareleftalonewitha

childoranychildrenattheRiseAboveevent/ActivitiesrunbytheFaithMovement

Organizationotherthantheirown.

13.Volunteersshouldnotfraternizewithchildrentheymeetintheprogramoutside

theRiseAboveEvent/ActivitiesrunbytheFaithMovementOrganization.Thisincludesbaby-sitting,sleepoversandinvitingchildrentoyourhome.Any

exceptionsrequireawrittenexplanationpriortothefactandaresubjectto

administratorapproval.

14.ThePennsylvaniaStatelawrequiresthatallcitizensreportanysuspectedabuseorneglectofachildtotheDepartmentofPublicWelfareoftheCommonWealth.

15.IunderstandthatasavolunteerfortheFaithMovementOrganization,Imaybe

subjecttoabackgroundcheck,includingcriminalhistoryaswellasadrugtest.

16.Iunderstandthatallegationsorsuspicionsofchildabusearetakenvery

seriouslybytheFaithMovementOrganizationandwillbereportedtothe

DepartmentofPublicWelfareoftheCommonWealthforinvestigationandthatthe

FaithMovementOrganizationwillfullycooperatewithanyrelatedinvestigations

andwillpursuetheprosecutionofchildabuserstoitsfullextentunderthelawsof

thisState.

17.VolunteersmaynothaveanyoutsidecontactwithchildrentheymeetinThe

FaithMovementOrganizationprograms,includingbyelectronicmeans.Volunteers

shouldnotsharetheirphonenumber,emailaddresses,theirpersonalwebpagesor

blogswithchildrenencounteredinprogramsofferedbytheFaithMovementOrganization.

IunderstandthatanyviolationofthisCodemaybegroundsforremovalasa

volunteer.BeingfullyawareofthematterscontainedintheVolunteerCodeof

EthicsandRules,IstilldesireconsiderationasavolunteerfortheFaithMovement

Organization.
