VOLUNTEERS IN ACTION

Ten years of volunteering with the Sunriver Library has only

deepened Linda's commitment to serving her community.

Happy in retirement, she helps with shelving, the paging list,

AV inspection, and whatever task needs to be done. She

enjoys discovering new authors and genres as she goes

about her work.

Linda also volunteers at the High Desert Museum and enjoys

seeing a range of people of all ages who visit the library and

the museum, and says both organizations help create

community as well as happy community members.

Linda’s generosity shines through with her sense of giving to her community and

her willingness to be available to the library in whatever capacity needed.

Volunteering is a core value of Linda’s, and she encourages anyone interested in

sharing their time to take the leap.

After many years as a family practice doctor Linda finds joy in the big and small

things of life. Walking, gardening, being with family and seeing her children’s

growth provides a tremendous sense of joy and satisfaction for Linda. And for

the huge commitment to her community and the library, we thank Linda for all

she does!

VOLUNTEERS IN ACTION

It’s clear after visiting with Zach for a few minutes how

passionate he is about computers. Zach attends COCC for

network administration and cybersecurity, but still finds time

to volunteer weekly at the Redmond Library. He helps

customers with computer questions. His love of computers

and working with them and with people really shine through

when he talks about his work.

While Zach provides valuable assistance at the library, he

says he also gets something out of the interactions. "It keeps

me sharp with troubleshooting," he says, with each unique

situation also giving him the opportunity to work with a variety

of people.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:ZACH DENHART

Zach says being able to show people a faster way to do things on the computer

makes him happy, and he loves hearing, "It would have taken forever if you

weren’t here to help!" When assisting a customer in navigating the world of

online job applications, Zach hopes his help makes a difference

Zach also vounteers with an online gaming community facilitating a positive

atmosphere for those playing games. It may seem that Zach spends most of his

days in front of a computer but don’t be misled, one of his favorite things to do is

to hop in a car and go on a road trip with no destination in mind, but to just get

out and explore!
