The Sir Pratap Singh cup was presented by Maharaja Pratap Singh
of Jodhpur in honour of HRH The Duke of Connaught to India.
Maharaja Sir Pratap Singh was a career British Army Officer. The legend was the Maharaja of the
princely state of Idar. The man behind the Sir Pratap Singh Cup was
one of the most influential personalities in the Golden Age of Polo. The 14-goal trophy was first
played for in Delhi in 1921 and has since been played every year in
Delhi. The first game was won by the Patiala team.

PRESIDENT’S POLO CUP 2018

The President’s Polo Cup was introduced in the year 1975 under the patronage of Late President Shri Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed.
Fakhrudin was the then Patron-in-Chief of Indian Polo Association (IPA). It was a prestigious Cup which was played as
an open tournament. A team with a minimum of 10 goals handicap qualified to enter and all high goal players
participated. The President’s Polo Cup was discontinued from 2005 onwards. President’s Bodyguard took the initiative with
the help of President’s Secretariat and conducted the first President's Polo Cup Exhibition Match at its Polo Ground in
March 2013.

From the first to fourth years of life of a horse, the permanent teeth begin to grow in, but in order for them to grow in normally, the
deciduous teeth (baby teeth), must shed. Deciduous teeth that have not been lost and sit on top of the permanent teeth are called caps.The first set of caps are ready to shed approximately at 2 years and
8 months. These can sometimes cause discomfort when the bit comes in contact with them. This causes various problems such as the horse
will be shy of the bit, unable to turn on either side, develop cuts in the mouth or tongue, behaviourial issues etc.
Caps are fully shed around the age of 4 years. Hence we recommend younger horses to have routine
