“New” Property Manager

As almost everyone knows by now, as of January 1, we have a new property manager, Grand Teton Property Management. We’re happy to have Tina Korpi (principal), Demerie Northrup and Kelsey Bancroft on our team, and to be working again with Rob Bacani of GTPM with accounting. Please contact GTPM directly for any maintenance issues.   GTPM will schedule all maintenance needs.

GTPM can be reached at the office phone number (307) 733-0205. This is the only phone number to call. Grand Teton Property Management is located at 610 W. Broadway, Suite 203, in the Centennial Building. Office hours are Monday - Friday 9am-5pm. The office is closed for lunch every day between 12:30pm and 1:30pm. In case of after hours or holiday emergency, please call the GTPM office at (307)733-0205 and press 0. You will be connected to their live emergency answering service. The operator will then connect you to the person on call.

Demerie Northrop can be reached by email at: [email protected]. Kelsey Bancroft can be reached at: [email protected]. Both Demerie and Kelsey can also be reached at the above phone number.

2019 Annual Meeting The annual meeting is scheduled for 10:00 - 1:00 p.m., on Friday, July 12, 2019, in the Ordway Auditorium at the Teton County Library. As we did last year, we will hold a separate meeting to review and discuss HOA finances at 9:00 immediately preceding the annual meeting.

There will be two vacancies on the Management Committee to fill: Susan Erickson’s and Kerry Winterer’s (who has completed Shari Beaver Winslow’s term). If you are interested in running for a seat on the MC, please contact any member of the MC or Demerie Northrup at GTMP.

Sagebrush Drive Association Update

You should have already received by email a copy of the letter from our attorney Mark Sullivan, sent on June 6, from GTPM, to residents along Sagebrush Drive. The purpose of the letter was to tell residents and members of SDA our side of the story, including our concerns with the need for, scope and cost of the SDA’s proposed improvement to Sagebrush Drive. The letter makes clear that TS contributes to the maintenance of the road and is willing to pay its fair share for any repairs needed to maintaining Sagebrush Drive as a safe thoroughfare. However, the MC continues to be skeptical of the need for implementing the improvements suggested by Nelson Engineering. At a minimum, it would be helpful to have a second engineering opinion

Next Monthly Management Committee Meeting The next monthly meeting of the Management Committee will be held on: Thursday, June 27. The call-in number is: 712-775-7031. Access Code: 966-696.

Web Site

Stay tuned! We are working with a local web designer, Molly Stewart of JHRefresh, to design a new web site that is easier to use, will have more (and more timely) content, and is graphically more up-to-date. This is actually an easy project for Molly and will involve a minimum of expense for the HOA. Hopefully, once it’s complete, more owners will be motivated to use the web site on a regular basis. One of the new content items we’re planning to add is a message board for such things as garage sales and Buy/Sell messages generally. Note that it will not be a site on which to contact the MC. To repeat, maintenance requests should be addressed directly to our property manager, GTPM.

Maintenance Update

As some of you know, the water line to Owen froze this past winter and had to be replaced. A large and quite deep area had to be excavated. The bill from Westwood Curtis, though significant, turned out to be quite a bit less than we had expected: $19,564. The parking lot has now been repaved, which will add to the total cost.

Pot Lucks!

Time again for pot lucks. Wednesday evening has always seemed like a good time to break up the week and get together. Depending on how many volunteers we have, we could go back to a weekly or at least bi-weekly schedule. If you have an interest in volunteering to host a pot luck for any particular Wednesday this summer, please contact Susan Erickson at [email protected]. Let’s shoot for June 26!

Ron Zabinsky, Jack Gushée Teton Shadows lost two of its long-term residents late last year: Ron Zabinsky and Jack Gushée. We’ll miss them both.

Many of you already know that Ron Zabinsky and husband of Ricki Arno Zabinsky, passed away suddenly on September 30, in New York. Ron had been looking forward to his granddaughter Julia’s bat mitzvah, which was celebrated two weeks after his passing. Ron was the behind-the-scenes flower-force behind Ron and Ricki’s beautiful planter gardens.

Jack Gushée passed away in Phoenix in late November of last year. He and Sally were regulars at TS potlucks. What some of us here at TS might not know is that after “retiring” from banking, Jack continued to use his expertise to re-build banking systems in Bosnia, Iraq and Ghana, among other far-flung places. But he always returned to the Tetons.
