President’s Message

I thoroughly enjoyed the

opportunity to speak with

many of you at The Pointe

during Continuing Education.

It’s nice to have some “face

time” to discuss issues you

may be having or things you

need help with. I’m always

willing to listen and you can

call me anytime at 715-966-9941.

Despite the serious lack of inventory, the

market is definitely busy. Before you get

too carried away with the countless

things to do and places to be, be sure to

get your registration in for the June 7

General Membership Meeting and Golf

Outing. I have ordered fabulous weather

but it remains to be seen if Mother

Nature will cooperate…

If you’re not a golfer, please plan to

attend the dinner and cast your ballot or

make sure to vote absentee if you cannot

join us. Your vote is important

to determine who will serve

our organization as officers

and directors for the coming

year. If you are planning to

attend, don’t forget your

PERSONAL checkbook! You’ll

probably want to get in on the

tablet drawing and there are

sure to be some great auction items.

Speaking of the RPAC auction, if you’d

like to donate something, it can be

dropped off at the board office or at

Tomahawk Community Bank. We

sincerely appreciate the fabulous items

that are contributed each year and

Cheryl Eskridge’s tireless efforts as our

RPAC Chair.

I’ll see you in a couple of weeks at

Inshalla Country Club!

President’s Message

WRA Magazine published an article last

month that raised some eyebrows. Long

story short, a judge ruled that an owner who

held deed to land under the water line

along a flowage could restrict a riparian

owner whose property line ends at the water’s edge from

installing a pier over their deeded land. The riparian owner

did retain rights to access the water but because they did not

own the land under it, they could not install a pier without

permission from the owner of the land below the water line.

REALTORS should make sure to check the deed for properties

along flowages to ensure it includes land up to and into the

water if there is deeded land below the water line. If someone

else owns that submerged land, the owner should not assume

they have the right to install a pier or other structure without

permission. Read the full WRA article at: goo.gl/myTXwT

RPAC Auction & Windows Tablet Drawing By RPAC Chair Cheryl Eskridge

We welcome Jennai’ Rusch of Lake Country Realty in Elcho to our RPAC Committee. She will be

helping us gather your donations of gift baskets and other items for the RPAC Auction at our

Election Dinner on June 7th. Please contact me at [email protected] or 512-749-6833 or

Matt at the board office to let us know if you have something to donate. We kindly ask that all

donations be dropped off at the board office or at Jennai’s or my office by May 24th to allow us

time to prepare for the big event. THANK YOU!

Acer Switch 12 Drawing: This Windows tablet/laptop hybrid weighs in at just over 2 pounds

and has a 12” hi-def touchscreen, Intel Core i3 processor, 128gb SSD and 4gb RAM. It also

includes a detachable keyboard, wifi & bluetooth, USB 3.0 & USB 3.1-C ports, a microSD card slot

for additional storage, and it works with Interface desktop! The cost to enter is $25 per entry

with a max of 4 entries per NWAR Member through 5/24, after which the limit will be removed

until all 100 entries are sold or until the drawing at the 6/7 election dinner. You need not be

present to win, and this offer is only open to NWAR Members; register by May 24th at the link

below and we will send instructions to confirm your entries:

All licensed real estate salespersons and brokers are required

to complete 18 hours of continuing education (six 3-hour

courses) every two years. Several already completed your

requirements at the WRA Winter Convention in January and

live CE in Minocqua last month, but many still need to do that to

renew your salesperson or broker license by December 14th.

One convenient method is taking the WRA online video

courses, but those who prefer not to take online courses can

attend NWAR-hosted video CE courses for just $25 each.

NWAR Members who take all 6 courses through NWAR can

claim a “6-for-5” discount to save the cost of one course (WRA

video courses not eligible). You may also claim an unused

2018 timely renewal credit to save an additional $25 and

complete all 6 courses for just $100!

View the schedule on page 3 and register at: goo.gl/RwrzBy

If you are looking for ways to keep

your contact information in front of

home buyers here is one more way. If

you have set up your free Xposure

bu s i n e s s p ag e , f o r e x amp l e

JaneDoe.realtyHD.com, you can edit

your email that is sent to all your PCS

clients with updates. You can provide

them the link to your business page

and let them know they can search in

Xposure for any MLS number that

interests them. They can look at

comparable properties and share

favorite listings with friends and social

media. Views that come from those

shares are framed in your photo and

contact information. Both the PCS

Client and Xposure are friendly to

smartphones.

Coming later Xposure links will be

integrated with a new PCS client

portal.

We look forward to seeing many of you

at the golf outing – hope you are

signed up.

AE Corner MLS Memo

We get a monthly report from

Realtor.com that indicates fewer than

10% of our Members have customized

their Realtor.com profile by adding a

bio, email, phone number and more.

The report also shows we had over

285,000 listing detail views, 850 agent

profile views and 500+ listing leads just

in April. If you haven’t setup a complete

Realtor.com agent profile, you may be

missing out!

Go to www.realtor.com/profile to

power up your profile with an agent

photo and bio, designations and

specialties and more. You can even add

client reviews and/or personal

recommendations to help with the most

important sale you will ever make:

selling yourself! Once your profile is

complete, you can link to your

Realtor.com bio from your agent

website and Xposure to make sure

consumers can learn all about how great

you are!

We hope to see you in Tomahawk soon!

MLS Tip: Want your properties to be found? It

is very important you check the mapping and

place them accurately.

Spring Housing Outlook

Based on comments from many of you that inventory is

tight, we decided to crunch some numbers to see how

our home supply is looking. We found that we are

currently at a multi-year low of under 11 months of

supply, whereas our “neutral” supply appears to be

closer to 15 months. It is therefore safe to say your

observations are correct that we are entering (or already

in) a “seller’s market”. Therefore it is as important as

ever to act fast for buyers since they may have

competition!
