Happy New Year

I hope that you’ve all had a chance to

spend quality time with family and

friends, get a well deserved break so

that you may prosper in all aspects of

your life for the upcoming year. I was

informed that the December general

meeting was a good night meeting all

expectations of the evening being that

there was good food, good turnout and

Christmas cheer. Our board had our fi-

nal meeting late in December as well

as continuing with the financial meet-

ings. As you recall, we had a special

financial meeting where we had a good

turnout for discussion. Our Jan 8th

meeting will be a closed meeting to re-

present the financials with some addi-

tional information as requested

during this meeting as well as from re-

quests outside of this meeting.

Wishing you and your families all

the best for a successful, rewarding, and

healthy 2013.

ENRICO RENNELLA “Scugnizz a Windsor”

Our sincere thanks to the Italian

community for supporting the “Scugnizz

a Windsor” show on December 6th. We

enjoyed a nice dinner and then Enrico

Rennella kept us laughing for two hours

straight! It was indeed a most fun

evening and we had approx. 190 in

attendance. Thank you.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

CIBPA Children's Christmas Party,

was held on December 9 at the CIBPA

Centre. Thank you to all the members

that particpated it was a great day with

wonderful food, entertainment, Santa

Claus.

The children enjoyed Jangles the

clown, and the visit from Santa. Thank

you to all those that assisted Linda

DeLuca, Paul Santin, Walter Riggi,

Richard Vennetilli for the chair for

Santa to sit in. Thank you to Mario

and the staff CIBPA Centre for the food

service.

CIBPA CHRISTMAS

DONATIONS 2012

I had a more enjoyable

and peaceful Christmas know-

ing that others less fortunate in our

community also enjoyed a good Christ-

mas meal.

When a gift is freely given to those

who are in need, we become

overwhelmed with the true spirit of

Christmas and with warm heart-felt

emotions knowing that we have done a

good humanitarian deed.

Just in time for Christmas on

Saturday morning December the 22nd

with the collaboration of the

Goodfellows, the Canadian Italian

Business and Professional Association

was able to reach out and touch 250

families in the greatest need.

Overcome with gratitude and

unimaginable appreciation, with a faint

smile and tears of emotional

thankfulness, many said “WE HAVE

BEEN OUT OF WORK FOR SOME

TIME”, or “WE SIMPLY RAN OUT OF

MONEY”. Some came in their pajamas

because they had nothing else to wear,

some did not have coats on a cold

chilling day. But when we heard numer-

ous times – “I HAD TO CHOOSE

BETWEEN PUTTING FOOD ON THE

TABLE OR BUYING GIFTS FOR THE

CHILDREN”,

we knew that CIBPA did in fact reach

out to the poorest people in our

community in the greatest need.

The most heart wrenching moment

for me was when I heard a little 5 year

old girl in an old pink coat ask her mom

after they had just received their box of

goodies - “MOMMY DOES THIS

MEAN THAT WE ARE GOING TO

HAVE A CHRISTMAS?”

It is my Christmas wish that CIBPA

Windsor will continue this beautiful

tradition of feeding and providing for

the poor for many years to come, or

until children of the world will no longer

go hungry.

May the peace, love, joy and the

true spirit of Christmas be with each and

every one of you throughout the entire

year. “Merry Christmas to all and have a
