PRIMARY WING (Activities report of this session up to September 2014)

The Pre-primary section of Chinmaya Vidyalaya is evolving with various outdoor activities as well as other co-curricular activities. This academic year started with ICE-BREAKING SESSION

To introduce, help students start communicating and share thoughts, a fun-filled and interac-tive 'Ice-breaking session' for Classes III to V was organized on 4th Apr 2014. Handwriting Competition on 11th April 2014 For classes Prep to II an ‘on the spot’ Handwriting Competition was conducted in their classes to enhance their creative hand.

RESULT

Choral Recitation on 15th May 2014 An Inter—Section group recitation was conducted in Hindi and English to improve the lan-guage skills of the students. In addition to that it has also inculcated the love for language among children. TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

MATHEMATICS MONTH (JULY) REPORT 2014-15 Aim at the sky and reach the stars .With high aspiration students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya bubble with various co –curricular activities throughout the year. Apart from regular activi-ties conducted throughout the year , few more activities were included along with the rou-tine ones. One of this is celebrating each month as a subject month. In this series, second chance was allotted to MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT for the month of July. To name a few competitions &activities they are as follows: 1. CV Math Genius Quiz for various class groups was held to enhance their power of Knowledge and reasoning. (i) Class IX & X - 9th July

(ii) Class XI &XII-11th July (iii) Class VI to VIII -15th July (iv) Class III to V-22nd July (v) Class I &II-1st August

2. Inter House Debate was organized by English department to complement the activities for Math month. Classes VI to VIII debated on 18 July on the topic “ Study of mathematics make more intelligent” to hone their debating skill. 3.Inter House Debate for classes IX to XII was also held on July 14 on the burning topic “Vedic Mathematics must be a compulsory component of Math syllabus”. 4.Inter House Bulletin Board competition was held on 31st July to draw out the aesthetic sense & creativity of the students. Four houses were given topic to display their artistic skill.

The result was 1st-Honesty House, 2nd- Freedom House, 3rd- Friendship House, 4th- Sincerity House 5. On the vibrant morning of 31st July , a student talk was given by Kaushiki class IX-A on the topic “Importance of Mathematics in everyday life” in the assembly . Last but not the least, Model Exhibition was held on 23rd August 2014 for classes III to X in collaboration with Social Science & Sanskrit Departments. The Mathematics month ended with a sweet adieu & memorable experiences.

Mr. H. K. Behera won third prize at National Level Chinmaya Quotient Quiz conducted at Coimbatore for staff of all India Chin-maya Vidyalayas. He won a cash prize of Rs. 15,000.00. Two other teachers Mr. Mukesh Jha and Mrs. Manju Rawat who had qualified for the final round among 25 teachers across India were also awarded with consolation prize of Rs. 3,000.00 each.
