ELECTION COMMITTEE
The 2015 Annual Meeting and Election of Board Members
2015 is the 25th Silver Anniversary of our Evergreen Coho
SKP Park! Since this is such a special year for our Park, we
should all plan to participate in our Annual Meeting &
Election, which is held on the first Wednesday of August –
this year it will fall on August 5, 2015.
Please consider serving this great Park by
serving on the Board of Directors. Three
board members are elected annually. There-
fore, we’ve included an application for the
Evergreen Coho SKP Park Board of Directors
in this issue of our Newsletter.
If you’re interested in running for office, you should en-
sure your name is included on the Official Ballot by sub-
mitting your Application no later than June 16, 2015 (50
days prior to the Annual Meeting).
Anyone submitting their name after June 16th may still be
nominated from the floor, but will be a write-in candidate.
This doesn’t allow Leaseholders to really evaluate a late
candidate.
These applications will be posted in the Clubhouse and will also be included
in the Annual Meeting Packet which goes out to all members 30 days before
the meeting. Completed Applications may be mailed or placed in the Club-
house Mailbox for Lot #213.

Evergreen Coho SKP Park’s Silver Anniversary will be celebrated this June 27th!
It will be 25 years since our park received its occupancy permit for our clubhouse, and a quarter century
ago the membership celebrated with a fun-packed luau.
A celebration will be held on the June 27th date, but the main activities will be included in COHO DAYS held
the first week of August so more members will be able to be present. Watch the clubhouse bulletin board
and COHO Tales for more information as it becomes available.
COMMITTEES COMMITTEES COMMITTEES COMMITTEES
Volunteers are the lifeblood of Evergreen Coho SKP Park. Committee Chairpersons are volunteers who
organize the other volunteers to accomplish the tasks that the Committees are charged with. Without
these wonderful volunteers, nothing would get done in the park. As a reminder the following is a list of
the Committee Chairpersons for the current year. New Chairpersons will be selected by Committees
after the annual Meeting in August. If you have a question about the work done by these Committees,
or want to volunteer to work on any of these committees, contact the Committee Chairpersons. Contact
information is posted on the bulletin board in the Clubhouse.

The past two months have been very busy in the Clubhouse with games, crafts, potlucks, Piz-
za Parties, St Patrick’s Day Dinner, Easter Dinner, breakfasts, a memorial service, and meeting
point for the Ladies Lunches. Thank you to all who have helped organize, sponsor, or partici-
pate in our activities.
In April the Ladies lunch returned to Doc’s Marina Grill at Point Hudson in Port Townsend. This is a popular restaurant
on the water with a great view of water as well as great food.

The Landscape Committee
Although the Landscape Committee officially disbands in September the members continued meeting, planning and occasionally working as weather permitted. I am very pleased to report that this winter the group completed three projects. Our first project was the succulent garden behind the laundry room. Working as a team we completed the garden after the utility fellows scraped the grass off the area. This patch of grass did not received any water during the summer and was an unsightly brown patch of dead looking grass so we decided to create a succulent garden that would not require watering. Our second project was headed by Diana Carter. She identified rose bush-es that were not doing well in the East garden due to the shading of the large trees. She transplanted six of them to the West side of the laundry yard where they would received the much needed sun. She transplanted an additional five rose bushes to the West parking area. There, with some help from the rest of the committee, we transformed a messy area into another rose garden with a gravel area and chair. Our third project was the waterfall. Merrie Freed spent the winter preparing the ground, and getting rid of noxious weeds that had taken root. We spread beauty bark over the waterfall and planted small heather plants that will rapidly increase in size. Our common area adopters have also been very busy. We have a few new adopters that have done wonders in their common are-as. Because of all of our adopters the park has had early spring flow-ers popping up. The colors are such a welcome sight after the browns and greens of winter. The Landscape Committee officially begins May 1st. We meet every Thursday at 8:30am in the coffee room. Come and join us.........

UTILITY COMMITTEE REPORT
This has been a fairly quiet winter regarding utility work around the park. This shows in the Budget for this Fiscal year 2014/2015. We have a little over $3,000, for the remainder of the fiscal year (3 Months). I have submitted our Budget for 2015/2016, to the Budget committee, for $16,950. Our available planned funds in our Contingency/Replacement Fund for 2015/2016 for Septic(636) is - $278,137. Electrical Systems(637) is - $71,010. Water Systems(641) is $2,000. These numbers may be adjusted, when the Board reviews the pro-posed C/R budget.
Over the past year, we have been coordinating our Thursday work sessions with Lot Management, and I plan to continue this same schedule for the remainder of this Fiscal year (3 Months). This way we can coordinate the use of the Truck and Tractor for both committees, and work together on projects.
Our winter schedule is to meet at the Shops at 9:00am and are usually finished by noon. When more people return to the park, we will probably start at 8:00am
Working with Earl Jones, Lot Management Chairperson and myself, Utilities Chairperson, we have asked George Hilke to coordinate the work schedule between the two committees for the Thursday work ses-sions. We will be asking those that need things done within the park to give their request to George Hilke, as the contact, and he will make out the Thursday work schedule. I've attached a copy of the list that George has put together for this Thursday work session.
1) Water leak lot 605
2) Rock for lot 228
3) Rock for lot 234
4) Rock for lot 125
5) Caulk shed lot 437
6) Caulk shed lot 543
7) Caulk shed lot 545
8) Clean lot 508
9) Pressure wash sheds
Further to the entry fountain repair, the Board has taken over this project. My goal was to have it fixed and flowing before more Leaseholders returned.
Our schedule for the remaining of this Fiscal Year has changed. Both Diane and I will be out of the Park starting April 17th until May 1st. We will be leaving again the end of May for a family reunion in Wisconsin, returning to the park mid July.
Bob Lehnert - Utilities Vice Chairperson, is in the Park, and if there are any invoices that need to be signed, please stop by Bob's and he will sign those invoices.
For those that will be traveling back "home", safe travels and we will see you this summer. Sounds like it is going to be exceptionally warm!

Evergreen Coho on Facebook
Evergreen Coho Leaseholders now have a presence on Facebook!
A new Facebook Group has been created for use by leaseholders and management at Evergreen Coho SKP Park.
This new group is only accessible to current leaseholders and management. Leaseholders must request to join the group and their name will be verified prior to approval.
Only leaseholders and management will be able to view, post, comment, add photos or files to the group. No one else (even your Facebook friends or family) will be able to see the content.
Post your thoughts about the weather, concerns about the park, questions that you may have or general mus-ings. Think of the group as a 24/7 Clubhouse Get Together to help spread news and information.
So, if you are a member of Facebook, go to:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/evergreencohoskp/
and click on 'Request to Join' (you will see a group description and those who have already joined).
Also, Evergreen Coho has a Facebook page that is viewable by the public (Escapees and others) that's purpose is to spread the good news about our park and attract visitors.
You can add photos there about Evergreen Coho and the surrounding area for all to see how wonderful it is around our community.
Check out and Like the page at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Evergreen-Coho-SKP-RV-Park/563601217103332

WELCOME NEW LEASEHOLDERS
TEXT AND PHOTOS BY SANDRA HAVEN
Rick and Madelynne Bowerman are both native Californians who became leaseholders last fall, just before heading for Arizona. They are now back in the park with their motorhome in lot #542. Rick retired from the Army, then spent 13 years as a truck driver, specializing in loads of food grade products throughout the 11 western states. They sold their home in 2002 and began full-timing. They hosted for both private and state parks for 10 years through-out Washington, Oregon, Utah, California and Arizona. Their favorite hosting job was at Washington state’s Cle Elum park where the Cle Elum and Cooper Rivers converge. Rick loves catch-and-release fishing and woodworking. Madelynne says she doesn’t let MS slow her down as she gets around on what she calls her scooter. Along with their little dog Missy, they plan to continue heading to Arizona BLM camp areas in the winters and enjoying our summers here.

MARKETING COMMITTEE Thanks to the cooperation of many of our members, we were able to get newsworthy and interesting facts about our park in the media lately. Highlighting Our Park Across the Country An article, “Breaking Ground,” about how RVers can enjoy gardening while “on the go” and highlight-ing our Landscaping Committee’s efforts came out in the March/April issue of Escapees magazine. We were also able to insert a separate page about our park’s upcoming Silver Anniversary. A “thank you” to all those we interviewed and photographed for this article: Bonnie Herner, Merrie Freed, Mari-anne Ecker, Diana Carter and Darlene Cathey. Focusing In Local Media, too! Then we refocused to the local community with another article, “Traveler’s Dreams Come True.” This article came out in the local newspaper’s quarterly magazine, “Living on the Peninsula.” The article was about our park’s upcoming Silver Anniversary, when we will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the opening of our clubhouse, the business and social hub of our community. With that article we en-couraged readers to contact us for information about Escapees, our co-op park and to set up a tour of what we have to offer. “Living on the Peninsula” is available county-wide for free at restaurants, con-venience stores and businesses from March through June, as well as inserted in the papers of all newspaper subscribers. More to Come! Articles: Check out the upcoming May/June issue of Escapees magazine as well! Pete Granger has a feature article highlighting our Olympic Peninsula, in his “Washington’s Scenic Discover: The Olympic Peninsula,” which includes Evergreen Coho SKP Park as a great place for Escapees to discover. In that same issue, more highlights of Western Washington are included in the “SKP Stops” section. A double dose of our park in the same issue! Advertising: We also have inserted a paid-for ad in RV Life’s “Resorts and Destinations” page that shows Washington’s places for RVers. This ad will be in their May, 2015 issue as well as online. Next year we plan advertising in both Escapee publications (the annual Travel Guide) and in public venues, like RV Life. We are also working with the office to order various promotional items (shirts, cups, etc.) with our park logo to offer to members and visitors. The Best PR: Word-of-Mouth But the best form of advertising the values and benefits of Evergreen Coho SKP Park is word-of-mouth. Thanks to all of you who have been spreading the word of our park across the country during your travels this year! That is the key to co-op living—working together for a stronger community.

May -- Maia's month
Maia is the Oscan Earth-Goddess, and an ancient Roman Goddess of springtime, warmth, and increase. She causes the
plants to grow through Her gentle heat, and the month of May is probably named for Her. Her name means "She Who is
Great", and is related to Oscan mais and Latin majus, both of which mean "more". She is also called Maia Maiestas, "Maia
the Majestic", which is essentially a doubling of Her name to indicate Her power, as both "Maia" and "Maiestas" have their
roots in latin magnus, "great or powerful". She was honored by the Romans on the 1st and 15th of May, and at the Volcana-
lia of August 23rd, the holiday of Her sometimes husband, the Fire-God Vulcan. Maia (meaning "the great one") is the Italic
goddess of spring, the daughter of Faunus, and wife of Vulcan.

Juno (Latin: Iūno [ˈjuːno]) is an ancient Roman goddess, the protector and special counselor of the
state. She is a daughter of Saturn and sister (but also the wife) of the chief god Jupiter and the
mother of Mars and Vulcan. Juno also looked after the women of Rome.[1] Her Greek equivalent
was Hera.[2] Her Etruscan counterpart was Uni. As the patron goddess of Rome and the Roman
Empire, Juno was called Regina ("Queen") and, together with Jupiter and Minerva, was wor-
shipped as a triad on the Capitol (Juno Capitolina) in Rome.
