Painting Tips by Nancy Walsh

Save your plastic newspaper sleeves; storing them

in an old Kleenex box works well! (That's what

Joyce Williams suggested.) They make good

"gloves" for messy staining, glazing and base coat-

ing. They also can be used double thickness to

preserve your foam roller between basecoats!

If you have any old pantyhose (does anyone be-

sides me?), they work well to strain the lumps out

of your acrylic paint or water based varnish. Just

fashion a "strainer" over the opening of a clean

container with a rubber band. Pour in the lumpy

paint...voila!

From the First Vice President From the 1st VP

We had a wonderful class with Marjorie Harris Clark. She is a great teacher and every one left with a completed or close to

completed project. Everyone discovered that the class was easier than it looked and that is owed to Marjorie’s laid back

teaching method.

April’s class is an ink and watercolor Dragonfly taught by Alise Duerr. This will be another class you will not want to miss.

Watercolor and paper provided by Alise. We always enjoy Alise’s classes. You can sign up at the March meeting or com-

plete the sign up below.

There are still some openings in the San Diego Duck class. If interested, contact me so I can give you the list of pencils.

Surface is suede board which I will have available and all the prep is done in class.
