SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

Every year Legend Music, PAPA and the PAPA’s teachers give up their time to teach scholarship students. This year is no different with the following scholarships that have been awarded:

India Wilson, Emily Matsui, Charlotte de la Baumeand Divalicious have been awarded RecordingScholarships, and Chanon Cserepy a PerformanceScholarship from Legend Music.

Olivia Pulaski - Vocal Scholarship

Olivia will continue her vocal studies withvocal scholarship from Rianne Davies.

Morgane Mahler - Vocal Scholarship

Morgane will continue her vocal studieswith a vocal scholarship from PAPA.

Cameron Grecia - Vocal Scholarship

Cameron will continue her vocal studieswith a vocal scholarship from Siobhan McGovern.

Blaze Crause - Guitar Scholarship

Blaze will continue his guitar studieswith a guitar scholarship from JaredLucow.

BEHIND THE SCENES

During the summer holidays, UWC Thailand completed the latest upgradesto the school’s recording studio. A double-glassed studio window was addedbetween the control room and the vocal booth, as well as additional studio grade acoustic treatment added to both rooms.

The studio operates on an iMac platform with a Focusrite Scarlet 18i20 audiointerface. Students are able to record using Cubase, Reaper or Garage Band DAW software programs.

The studio has a selection of AKG, Shure and Rode vocal and instrument mics.

The Phuket Academy of Performing Arts offers music production classes whichinclude Rockschool Uk‘s new graded production courses.

The studio offers UWC Thailand students the opportunity to create professionalPodcast, Campus Radio and Music recordings.

What’s Going On

Junior Vocal Group is now FULL! So no more space for new members.

Senior Vocal Group still has space. The class runs on Monday’s from 4:40pm for G6 to G12. Signup NOW!!

Junior Band Class is now FULL! Senior Band Class is ALSO FULL!

Percussion Group still has space and is now open to ALL UWC Thailandstudents and parents. The class runs on Tuesday’s at 5:40pm. Come alongand rhythmically beat out your frustrations!

Baby Jazz for PS, KG and G1 runs on Monday’s at 2:40pm. There is stillspace!

Contemporary Dance for G2 to G5 runs on Monday;s at 3:40pm. There isstill space for more students.

Street Dance for juniors and seniors will start to run as soon as enoughstudents enrol.

Rockschool UK and ABRSM Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals, Piano & Keyboard, and Music Theory Grades 6, 7 & 8 all have UCAS points.

UCAS points is a point system that can be used on university and college applications.

During the summer vacation Rianne tookon a new student that wanted to preparefor an inter-school talent competition.

A grade 3 student of the Anuban Phuket School, Sonya (Chanisara Sringam) scoreda whopping 81.75 points in the competitionand won a Gold Medal!

She had competitors from 28 Thai schoolscompeting in her age group.Well done Sonya! And Well done Rianne!
