Because of the love you have all so graciously shown me, I have been able to complete my master's degree and follow my call to Tennessee, where I am working with youth and children in camp & retreat ministry, as well as making connections in the UMC on the national level. Knowing that I have the support of you all in the midst of so much growth and change has meant the world to me; my cup runs over. I am so thankful for each of you, and I can't wait to show the same gracious love to all with whom I work and live and worship. Praise God. Ministry Testimonies

Last week I visited a resident at Indywood and all she could talk about was the Snowball Party the children from FUMC had brought to Indywood. She loved seeing the children who had taken her order and delivered to her room. What a wonderful mission for our

church! Nothing us old folks enjoy as much as children.

Chancel Choir Our chancel choir will be starting fall rehearsals on

Wednesday, August 17 at 7pm. This is a great opportunity for YOU to join us! Everyone who can carry a tune is encouraged

to come and be a part of our choir family. Here are several really GOOD reasons to sing:

1. It's good for your health: Singing relieves tension, lowers blood pressure, slows heart rate, improves breathing

2. It's good for your heart: People who sing with other people develop a close-knit relationship with their fellow singers.

3. It's good for your brain: regular mental exercise such as singing and reading music keep us on our toes and help concentration in

other areas 4. It's good for your soul: Singing is an excellent offering of worship to our Lord - not only for the singer, but also for the

listener. 5. We have loads of fun learning music together.

6. Christmas music in August: 'Nuff said!!

Stewardship Quote In a recent visit with Ms. Eleanor

Garrett, she shared with me that her favorite thing about the church

growing up was Sunday School. She vividly

remembered how every Sunday as a child she would fold a nickel in her

handkerchief to put in the collection. "You didn't dare show

up on Sunday without your nickel" she said. Here we see

the importance of teaching tithing remembered almost 100 years later. What a meaningful lesson for

us to teach and model for our children.

I just wanted to share with everybody Bro. Will
