regard had started Sri Sankara TV. The multilingual
channel is now available in more than 100 countries across
the globe.
With the vision of developing a stress free community and
create awareness on health and bring back the glorious
legacy of 7,000 years and relive the grand heritage another
channel from the house Sri Sankara - AYUSH TV was
incepted on January 15th-2017. The channel was
inaugurated by Yogrishi Baba Ramdev-ji at the sprawling
Freedom Park in Bengaluru.
Sri Sankara Matrimony organized a 'Mega Matrimony Meet'
exclusively for Naidu and Brahmin community at Avadhani
Convention Hall at Girinagar, Bengaluru on January 21st
and 22nd - 2017. Sri Sankara Matrimony had successfully
organized Mega Matrimony Meet in Bengaluru, Chennai,
Trichy, Mumbai, Mysuru and Ernakulam. More than 3,000
alliances have been finalised through this platform. Mega
Matrimony Meet began by invoking Godess Parvathi and
Lord Shiva and performing 'Swayamvara Parvathi Homa' by
our Vidwans. Sri Sankara Matrimony had earlier organized
Mega Matrimony Meet in the cities of Bengaluru, Chennai,
Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Trichy, Mysore, Mumbai and
Ernakulam.
Enthusiastic participants thronged for the profiling
orchestrated systematically by our Anchors. Software
Engineers, Doctors, Chartered Accountants, Post Graduates
actively took part in the meet.
We hope that this magazine will play a significant role in
shaping the cultural milieu and matrimonial needs for
Hindus residing all over the globe.

Mega Matrimony Meet began by invoking Godess Parvathi and Lord Shiva and performing 'Swayamvara Parvathi Homa' by our Vidwans. The homa was conducted in a detailed manner by recital of Vedic hymns by Vidwans. Sankalpa was taken in name of all participants and prasadam was distributed to all the participants and their parents. Raksha - the sacred remains of homa was distributed to all participants.
Next, the profiling of participants was organized at the stage. Our Anchors introduced the participants on the stage and asked about their expectations about their partner and other marital expectations. The event also saw participants and their parents/decision makers talking to each other and exchanging their information.
The second day of the meet saw a huge response from the Brahmin community. More than 500 participants including their Parents and decision makers participated in the meet. Senior artiste and noted film actress Smt. Girija Lokesh was the chief guest. Mrs. Girija Lokesh spoke on the importance of understanding between two partners for the success of a marriage and advised the
participants to eliminate 'Ego' for success of a marriage. She also stressed on giving importance on the character and conduct of a person rather than his/her financial worthiness.
Enthusiastic participants thronged for the profiling orchestrated systematically by our Anchors. Software Engineers, Doctors, Chartered Accountants, Post Graduates actively took part in the meet.
An elderly couple came all the way from Kalburgi (Gulbarga) to attend the meet. Speaking on the occasion they said "We feel as though we have attended a marriage, the way of organizing the meet; the systematic way of unfolding the event; courteous staff and a huge number of participants is really a good platform to find a bride/groom. We appreciate the initiative of Sri Sankara Matrimony and congratulate the management for the successful conduct of this event".

Marriage of Gali Janardhan Reddy's daughter -

Janardhana Reddy's daughter, Brahmani's lavish
wedding was held in Bengaluru posch Palace
Grounds on 16th November 2016. Brahmani tied the
knot with Rajeev Reddy, a businessman who owns
gold and diamond mines in South Africa. He is son of
Hyderabad-based businessman Vikram Deva Reddy,
highly successful industrialist with businesses
abroad.
Gali Janardhana Reddy used gold-plated invitation
to invite the guests. It was a gold-plated box,
containing a card which is setting out containing the
details of the event, LED screen fitted into the lid. It
was a three minute video of G Janardhana Reddy, his
wife Aruna Lakshmi, daughter Brahmani, teen son
and prospective groom Rajeev Reddy lip syncing to a
Kannada song in the background.
The 35 acre land of Palace ground was designed to
look like a Vijayanagara Empire. The set included
Vitthala, Shiva and Ganesha temple. The actual
wedding was held at seven-door set that is replica of
the famous Tirupati temple. Reddy had donated Rs
45 crore diamond studded gold crown to Tirupati
temple. About eight priests from the Tirupati temple
had performed the marriage rites. Set designer and
art director Shashidhar Adapa has worked on this set
with his team for several weeks. This cinematic rural
paradise is filled with quaint villages, temples,
markets and homes. Luxury bullock carts were used
to transport guests from entrance to the main
venue.
The event witnessed about 50,000 guests.

and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa were the
guests of honour.
Stage performance was given by many noted
personalities like Telugu star Rakul Preet, comedian
Brahmanand and Kannada star Yash. Punith Raj
Kumar, Ravichandran, Vishal Krishna, Suman,
Sharath Babu were among the guests to the
wedding.

NAIDU COMMUNIT Y WEDDING TRADITIONNaidu marriage involves several rituals and traditions. Ceremonies, rites and rituals are full of symbolism and
rich significance. In the 19th century, it is said to have lasted for 16 days (Padahaaru Rojula Panduga). In modern
times, it lasts upto 5 or more days, depending on family's financial and social status.
Pendlikoothuru
A day or two before the marriage, it is held at bride's and groom's home
separately, close family member smear them with oil and turmeric. This is done
to cleanse their skin, so that a natural glow is radiated after they bath. Followed
by the bath, they dress themselves in new clothes. The girl wears a saree, flowers
o n h e r h a i r a n d b a n g l e s a n d t h e b oy wo u l d we a r a d h o t i .
Snathakam
This important ritual that takes place a few hours before the actual Muhurtam. Father
hands over responsibilities of the household to the groom. As a part of custom, the
groom is asked to wear a silver thread on his body.
Kashi Yatra
In this unique ceremony, the boy at the end of the thread ceremony says that he has
discarded worldly pleasures and going to Kashi. To stop him from going into Kashi and
enter into Grihasthashram, the girl's brother requests him to stay on and offers his sister
in marriage.
Mangala Snaanam
As per the custom, on the wedding day, the bride and the groom
must take an auspicious bath. It purifies their mind and body, make them prepared to
perform sacred rites.
Aarti
Oil is applied to the bride and groom at their respective houses. Thereafter, the family
members perform Aarti and pray to their family Deity to bless the bride and groom to
lead their life happily and successfully.
Ganesh And Gowri Puja
Before the wedding ceremony, the groom performs the Ganesh pooja, which is
conducted at the mandapam, to remove the obstacles and make the event very
successful. While the groom attends the Ganesh pooja, bride perfoms Gauri pooja.
Gauri is the mother Durga who represents divine power, energy and fertility.

Kanyadaan
Girl is made to sit on bamboo basket and carries in her hand betel leaves &
nuts, coconut, sandalwood and a red pumpkin. Her maternal uncle carries
the bride in a bamboo basket to the mandapam. As a tradition, until the
wedding is complete, they are not allowed to see each other, so white
curtain is placed between them. Considering bridegroom as “Lord Vishnu
Svarupa” and bride as “Devi Lakshmi Swarupam”, the bride's parent wash
the bridegroom feet.
Jeelakarra Bellamu
Couple are asked to smear a paste from each other's hands, then place this paste on each other's head over the
curtain. Jeelakarra refers to cumin and Bellamu refers to jeggery. This indicates that the relationship of the
married couple is unbreakable and inseparable in both tough and good times of life. This ceremony makes the
couple officially married and curtain is removed.
Madhuparkam
As a part of this ritual, the bride dresses up in white cotton Saree with red border. On the
other hand, the groom wears white dhoti with red border. White is the colour for purity
and red is for strength.
Mangalsutra Ceremony
The Mangalsutra is generally a gold chain with gold and black beads. The groom ties the
Mangalsutra around the neck of the bride with three knots. Three knots are tied to promise to
care of her and not to hurt her through thoughts (manasa), speech (vacha) or deeds
(karmana).
Kanya Daan Akshata
At the end of the Mangalsutra ceremony, the couple exchange garlands around each other's necks. All those
assembled, shower flower petals and Akshata as a blessing.
Saptapadi
The bride and the groom takes seven steps together around the fire. Each step signifies
each promise. They take oath of caring, protecting, understanding, loving and guiding each
other. The pallu of the bride saree is tied to groom's scarf (kanduva).
Sthaalipaakam
The groom adorns the second toes of the bride with silver toe rings. The bride is made to wear a gold chain with
black beads, to free her from the effects of the evil eye.
Griha Pravesh
Bride is made to enter the groom's house with all rites and fanfare. The aarti is performed by
groom's mother and step in with their right feet.
On the 16th Day after Marriage:
The number 16 is said to be divine for Naidu community. The bride takes a bath and wears a new Saree for this
function. The two pendants are removed from the thread and strung on a gold chain, separated by a few gold or
black beads to prevent them from banging into each other. This represents a harmonious relationship between
the bride's and groom's families.
