When Voltaire left school, he wanted to be a writer,
however, his father wanted him to be a lawyer. In Paris,
Voltaire pretended to be working for a notary, while,
in fact, he was writing poetry. The rotten onion
sack he was. His father then found out and sent him to study law in Normandy, where his passion for writing persevered.
A WAR WITHIN PHILOSOPHY
Voltaire Rousseau
Voltaire believed that through education and reason a man could distinguish himself from a beast.
Rousseau thought that it was exactly education and reason that forced a man to become unnatural and corrupt.

Voltaire was reported to drink 50-72 times every day. And that’s why he’s so short. And that’s why he’s so fine. And that’s why he whips his
wig back and forth. And that’s why he wrote 2000
books.
