THE VOLLEYBALL YOUR WAY MOVEMENT
The Volleyball Your Way Movement has inspired the FIVB to embrace all forms and variations of playing volleyball whilst taking into consideration general characteristics and conditions of each place. The way this movement translates into the FIVB course framework is that each local reality will have unique needs, potential and constraints – the role of the FIVB is then to provide all National Federations with a framework for action which allows for new ideas and initiatives to be carried forth regardless of adversities, and a vision, a focus of developing the youth and children and transforming volleyball as the number one family entertainment activity worldwide.
Objectives
As the governing body of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball, the FIVB aims to increase the number of Volleyball players in all levels and assist National Federations according to their respective capabilities. It is the role of the FIVB to create the conditions under which each member is able to express its potential and derive the maximum benefit from all forms of volleyball.
The Volleyball Your Way course programme emphasizes teaching the basics of Volleyball to children and youth, therefore, the key target groups are teachers and grassroots coaches.
A Framework for Action
Volleyball Your Way Courses aims to give space to unique and uplifting stories of playing Volleyball around the world. All our programmes fit under this umbrella concept of Volleyball Your Way, which means that the FIVB strongly supports all forms of Volleyball. A number of resources are available for reference.
Cool Volley We play it Cool is a FIVB grassroots activity to attract the youth to participate in Volleyball and Beach Volleyball. Cool Volley is a proactive development tool aimed at assisting National Federations to recruit youth through their projects at a national level. Each Federation can download a complete set of the Cool Volley campaign and rebrand it in line with its needs and goals. Cool Volley promotes volleyball as an easy, fun, and competitive way of playing.

Volleyball at School Volleyball at School remains a fundamental tool for the introduction of Volleyball to young children through simple game like drills. Children need actions that are motivated by the personality of the teacher who can help to create the culture and motivation to participate. Volleyball at School endorses cooperation and team spirit.

Mass Volley Programmes Mass Volley is pure grassroots activities where fun and passion for Volleyball
are the real essence of the activities. Mass Volleyball showcases Volleyball as a sport which can be played anywhere with very little equipment. Every effort of each National Federation is supported by the FIVB and benefits from the FIVB’s communication channels.

ORGANISING VOLLEYBALL YOUR WAY COURSES
As many schools include Volleyball in their curriculums, the overall participation rates for Volleyball in schools tend to be high. Nevertheless, the drop-out rates after the age of 17 also tend to be high and, therefore, the FIVB Volleyball Your Way courses aim to build momentum between schools and youth and avoid drop outs.
Courses that do not conform to the FIVB Regulations for Volleyball Your Way Courses are not granted official FIVB recognition. The FIVB supports one Volleyball Your Way course per National Federation per year. Category I and II National Federations may request the FIVB for support to run this type of courses.
